Great location and really nice and clean rooms with all amenities. The view of the mountain is absolutely incredible! The food was delicious and we enjoyed the beautifully maintained garden and the impeccable service. Those of us who work remotely can benefit from the tranquility of a place tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
Everything was perfect. But what makes this hotel such a fantastic place to stay is the staff. Upon arrival we were greeted by Mrs Alexandra, who did not hesitate to fulfil every small request that we or any of the other guests could have. In the new realities of the COVID-19 pandemic, tourists tend to be more demanding, but Hotel Centaur managed to meet and go beyond our expectations. We felt safe and comfortable in the experienced hands of the hotel staff.
We spent two amazing nights there. We really wanted to stay more, and we will next time. This is without a doubt one of our favourite hotels in Bulgaria (and we've been to many places). Hotel Centaur is a true gem. The atmosphere is so special that we would give five stars to the location, rooms, hospitability,...

Unfortunately all this is being 'wiped out' because of the unbearable noise from the restaurant below the hotel. The noise starts in the afternoon until midnight We booked this hotel for 2 nights to take the first bus of 7.40 h to the Monastery. Obviously we went to bed early. We had a terrible night. If you don’t mind noise during the evening you can take this hotel. If peace and quiet are important for you, stay away from this hotel! There are still a few other...
Read moreWe were very happy with our stay at Centaur Hotel! Our hosts were very friendly (Alexandra is so sweet) and the rooms were very clean and simple with a great view from the balcony. We felt quite safe and comfortable here as two tourists who were unfamiliar with what to expect in Bulgaria, and the breakfasts and dinners were great. This hotel was a great jumping off point for us to visit the Rila Seven Lakes Hike (about 1 hour and 20 minutes away) and the Rila Monastery (about 26 minutes away). Rila itself is not a tourist town; we visited the first week of June and it was incredibly quiet. Don’t forget to bring cash...
