Hotel "Perun" — Hotel in Sandanski

After a mix up with the very similar name of a nearby hotel, we arrived at Perun hotel and managed to get the keys and move into our apartment.

I say "managed" because of the language barrier!!! Unfortunately, most of the people in this smal city of Bulgaria (Sandusky) don't speak English 😕

The apartment was quite big, with two big two-bed bedrooms, a small bathroom with a shower and a medium sized balcony with a table and four chairs.

Unfortunately, there was only one wardrobe (in one of the bedrooms). The other bedroom seemed empty, without the wardrobe, but had a little refrigerator 😀

One can enjoy a long shower, with lots of hot water, there.

The whole hotel seemed to be on fire!

The temperature in all areas was warm to too warm (most of the time). The hallways, the reception, the SPA area... hot 🔥 🥵 🔥

Breakfast was nice with small variety of food, drinks and coffee.

You can have paid lunch and dinner at Perun.

All the food is nice, warm and freshly prepared.

The children and the adults made good use of the SPA area which was very nice with swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, stem room, hot and cold showers and a massage room.

We had a massage, too. The masseur seemed inexperienced, to me, but was very willing to satisfy.

At the end, the bill was around €150 per day. It is not expensive, but I was expecting a lot less.

The hotel has enough, adequate parking area and is located next to a small river, vary near to a nice, big park with lots of open space, green areas and trees, toys for toddlers and children and an open-air swimming pool!!!

We can here on a family holiday and at first we were welcomed to the hotel with a welcoming reception. The lift up to the rooms is tiny and only fits three people + luggage. When we got to our room they are lovely and spacious however the rooms are coloured brown which makes the atmosphere seem dirty although they are actually fairly clean. The breakfast is amazing for a hotel breakfast, very traditional Bulgarian and a wide selection of choice including freshly squeezed juices! The pool and spa is also very nice: the pool is a lovely temperature and spacious. There is a steam room and sauna which are also very clean and relaxing. The hotel restaurant is also pretty good. The food is of good quality however we were served uncooked chicken and they got confused of the order but after that the food was very good. The hotel was very good value. The huge room was extremely clean and warm. The bed was very comfortable and we had everything we needed (except a hairdryer). The receptionist was friendly and welcoming, and helpful when asked for information. The ground floor spa (included in the price) had a very clean and well maintained Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna - all of which we had to ourselves every time we used it! The room was very quiet, something which we weren't prepared for having stayed in similar hoteland especially as there was a Christmas party of guests staying.
