Two of us plus two small dogs stayed at this accommodation for two nights at the end of October. We had an easy time booking on booking.com. Upon arrival, we parked in the driveway and then met our host; he was extremely accessible at all times and used a google translate app as our Bulgarian is at the very beginning stages.||Our room was a triple because that is what was available when we booked-we were happy with this. It felt very clean and we were given hand sanitizer and baby wipes-a Covid measure. ||The bed was comfortable-there was a fireplace which we used each day we were there with wood conveniently outside the door. The room itself was spacious and the bathroom a wet room.||Finally, the breakfast was superb-the best breakfast we have had in Bulgaria so far! As a vegetarian, I was more than satisfied with the amazing homemade yogurt and banitsa the first morning and the yogurt, cheese (and meat) plate and what tasted like donuts the second morning. The person preparing breakfast was very friendly and the atmosphere in the breakfast area warm-always a fire burning.||My only caution would be to be aware that you will be driving up a hill— the incline is steep (coming from someone who doesn’t like hills). ||I would highly recommend this place and will stay here when in the...
Read moreThis is the same guesthouse that is listed as Guest House Gaitana on Tripadvisor. We stayed there with friends for three nights and we all loved the place. Hosts Lubo and Tanya immediately welcomed us with snacks and drinks and made us feel right at home. They do not speak English, but are expert with Google translate, so communication was not a problem. Lubo built the houses, which are in the traditional local style, over an eight-year period and the rooms are beautifully decorated with rustic furnishings and are very comfortable and clean. Tanya makes an abundant and delicious breakfast every morning and cooks dinner some nights. We were lucky enough to be there on a Sunday night when she was cooking for a group that had come to hear traditional bagpipe music and singing. The entertainment and food were both fantastic. There are several other good restaurants in easy walking distance.||||We really enjoyed the village of Shiroka Laka and the surrounding countryside, and staying with Lubo and Tanya made the experience so memorable. They are exceptionally warm and gracious hosts who have made a heavenly little mountain retreat. The beds were incredibly...
Read moreWonderful guest house. The property is very well located in a quiet place, you can even listen to the local river, imagine how well you can sleep with such a sound. The temperature here is perfect for the summer season because when in the most areas the temperatures are 28-33 here is 23. Now for the house itself- it can take up to 20-23 people ( according to the owners of the property), speaking of owners- a man and a woman who are very welcoming and are making one very good breakfast with homemade yogurt, tea and a lot more. The house is made in a traditional Bulgarian style and all above makes the experience awesome. Really recommend. The price for 2 people is 100 lv or 50 euro, of course it is too low and I recommend the price to be a little higher due the inflation and respectively always growing price of all goods...
