Mountain Lake Hotel — Hotel in Smolian

The place is great! Polite staff, warm and cozy. Prices are fair. Apartments are very warm and cozy, terraces and amazing view (in most of them). The SPA and massages are awesome. There is also a small swimming pool and gym. Roads are clean from snow, there are parking spots and light during the night plus a small play area for kids inside the main building with library, sofas and burning fireplace! It looks amazing also for the summer, with three lakes nearby and barbeque spot. I will visit it again for sure.

The only minus for the winter is that the Mafia that owns Pamporovo in the face of our Prime Minister (Boiko Borisov the Pumpkin) and his wife and some other in the compilation closed the "Smolyan Lake's Lift" so that people will move to Pamporovo in order to do so e skiing. The truth is that grumpy old mafiots, with empty heads, no vision for prosperity and greedy mouths cannot contribute for the tourism in Bulgaria. Their only goal to have absolute monopol over tourism and destroy the small and medium business that they cannot buy. They cannot support and organize Pamporovo itself and then want to have income.

Smolyan is great it has a lot of potential!!!!!! I want to see both Pamporovo and Smolayn the greates together working ski resorts on the Balkans! Keep the good work boys!!! Let Smolyan show the rest of the resorts how to manage the resort, clean the streets and keep the fair prices!!! Wish you to get the lift back from the greedy mafiots and get few more! Show them how to run a business!!!

We had an incredible one week holiday in this hotel! The flat was fully equipped, warm and comfortable. There is a spa center with sauna, steam bath and a pool that was great fun for the kids (it would be better if the water was warmer). There are great massages for children and adults. The hotel is situated in beautiful forest and we walked to the lake that is only 5 minutes from the hotel. The ski slopes are 20 minutes with car and you can choose from a lot of ski schools for adults and children and you have 20% off from the regular prices of equipment with voucher from the hotel. The hotel has good restaurant and children play area that was enjoyed from all kids. The staff at reception is really friendly and helpful. We were two single ladies wanting a room each - we got a two bedrooms, two bathroom suite for a very modest price. Spotlessly clean and with everything us Brits like including a Kettle though plug sockets for the hair dryer were rather inconveniently placed. The hotel is in an excellent location for ascending Snejanka Mountain, the highest in the area. We did it the lazy way by walking a kilometre up the quiet road and getting the chairlift to the top where you can then ascend the restaurant tower with spectacular views in all directions. The staff at the hotel couldn't have been nicer. The restaurant food was good and very plentiful. We treated ourselves to a massage each and the masseuse was excellent - highly recommend. A slight drawback is that the facials and some other treatments are only available in Winter during ski season. Very nice pool....
