We stayed at L do Rado on Saturday 29th December 2012 for one night, we used it as a stopover for our family when travelling from Sofia airport to the ski resort of Pamporovo. The hotel is on the south east of the city, about 10 minutes from the airport, a short distance from the main A1 (Sofia to Plovdiv). ||||The hotel was very clean, warm & well appointed. The staff were very helpful & even moved a car when we arrived so that we could park off the road, making it easier to get our luggage into the hotel. The Christmas decorations were still up & there was a fire in the lounge/reception area, so the hotel was very welcoming. ||||It was a little hard to find, but only in that English satnavs aren't designed for European street names, so if you are going to be travelling in the dark make sure that you print off a small map of the area or directions before you travel. It was also dark when we arrived which didn't help, but the hotel sign is clearly visible from the main road - the satnav told us that it was on the right of the main road, when in fact it was on the left. ||||We had 2 rooms, both of which were well appointed & spacious. The beds were big & very comfortable and there was plenty of storage in each of the rooms. The children's triple room had a very nicely appointed wet room & we had a bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, mixed plate of cold meats, jam, bread, tea & coffee. The lady was very helpful & couldn't have been more helpful. ||||The area is very quiet. There was no traffic noise, either in the evening or in the morning, though we did leave relatively early. ||||We would happily recommend this hotel, it was excellent value for money. We paid less than £100 for the two rooms for the night,...
Read moreWe had stayed here once before when we arrived late and caught a very early plane and remembered it as being worth a second visit. It's 10 minutes drive from the hotel, an easy 10 minutes at that.||The staff are really friendly, English is not good except in the restaurant, but it's easy to get by. The rooms are comfortable, wifi works a treat and the food in the restaurant is good. Breakfast is served in the hotel lobby, nothing special but adequate.||There is an underground car park I believe but I have left the car on the street, it's a mainly residential area.||We've booked to stay again in...
Read moreRoom was excellent: spacious, comfortable, beautifully designed. The location is great: very calm and quiet. It is much cheaper than the hotels in the city center, yet not that far away from the city - around 20 mins. /plus, taxis are super cheap in comparison to most European countries, so you can take a taxi every day - around 12 lv. - 6 euro to the centre/. It's impressive how you can easily get from the city centre for business meetings to a peaceful area in the suburbs. Oh, and of course, close to the airport, but not that much so you can't hear any plains, no worries. Highly...
