Hotel Vrazhdebna (Хотел Враждебна) — Hotel in Sofia City

Close to the airport and you won't die.

You won't enjoy it either. There was no one there when we arrived. (had to call a number on the front door) There was no one at the front desk when we left. (tried to leave the key as we were leaving but the door was locked so I had to return to the room) Their restaurant is not open and nothing is nearby. Our non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke and had a full ashtray on the balcony. The carpet felt dirty and the bathrooms are like in a motor home. You have to remove the toilet paper and towels before you can shower. They do have parking and they will store your car for free if you are returning to Sofia. The bed was comfortable. I am not sure about heating or air conditioning but luckily we didn't need...

They did not staff reception - I ended up leaving they key in the door at 10am when I departed. It felt as though the hotel was not actually operating. There is no food available in the vicinity. An overall extremely strange experience. Would not recommend at all as an airport hotel, since it is in the middle of nowhere and not easy to get a taxi (especially with nobody at reception to call one).
