Hello there friends. I just came home from a visit at the lovely Amfora hotel. I was searching for a lovely peaceful experience, which can give me the best of both nature, and hotel experience. The Amfora really exceeded my expectations.|||| Situated just outside Sofia are the base if Vitosha mountain the hotel offers a lot of conveniences. You can be outside Sofia and enjoy the feeling of village life, and at the same time you can hop on the tram, which is only 10 minutes walk from the hotel, and you can be in the core centre of the city of Sofia in 20 minutes.|||| This offers fast, comfortable and very price favourable choice for you. The tram can also help you avoid huge traffic jams which are unfortunately quite a common city in the capital of Bulgaria.|||| The rooms in the hotel itself are clean, huge, and surprisingly quite, having in mind that the hotel is very near a main road. On the other hand the hotel itself is on a high ground which puts him quite above the road, and this takes the building away from the noise.|||| The hotel has a lovely garden, great lightening during night and a stream pouring near by, giving you an amazing relaxin experience. Shower is great, and the internet is fast and stable.|||| Amfora is like a small castle with all you need for the soul. From the garden at the from of the house out have a foot path which can take you straight away into the mountain and take you away in an unique wild environment. |||| I have attached quite a lot pictures of the hotel so you can get a better idea of what I'm talking about.|||| I would highly recommend it to everybody, and I personally am looking to visit for a longer Period of time as this visit of mine in general wasn't planned and I literally booked the hotel 2 hours before I checked in. |||| I'm glad I did.|||| I would love to thank Trip adviser for giving us the system and opportunity to be able to find Jews like the Amfora fast quickly and be sure that we are in for a good experience, thanks to the platform for reviews and listings of the hotel, and the opinion of all us the clients. |||| Wishing the team a great expansion in their service.|||| I would love to thank the owner of the hotel Paula as well for making me feel at home. I will be back soon for another visit....
Read moreHad 3 nights from 10 to 13 September 2016 at yje Park Hotel Amfora. We were very disappointed in the small cramped room with nowhere to put anything. The toilet/shower was also very small & we were amazed that having no window it didn't have an extractor fan. The rooms (if all are similar) are designed for short stay/weekend without much luggage. We had come from bansko were we had been for 11 nights and with our hiking/bird watching equipment meant we had two suitcases + hand luggage.||Being elderly access to our room was up a narrow spiral staircase impossible to negotiate with two suitcases. Obviously no help being available. Paulo the owner showed us another way which was fine but did mean we had to pass along the veranda of another room (unoccupied on our arrival). On checking out the room was occupied and Paulo seemed very annoyed we took our suitcases back along. We were not prepared to cause injury trying to take them down the spiral staircase. ||Paulo was very helpful on arrival but for some reason the day we left chose not to say goodbye which we thought would have been politeness from any hotel owner. We must have upset her somehow. Unfortunately we cannot...
Read moreThis family-run hotel was ideal for a short stay on our way back from Greece. It's just off E-79 road and has a private parking area which is so good for individual travellers. It takes about 30 minutes to travel by tram from the terminal stop (which is close to the hotel) to the very heart of Sofia. The nice building of the hotel is located at the foot of Vitosha mountain and has a lovely court with some lounge area rich in vegetation. The view from our room was great and the air absolutely fresh. Wi-Fi was good too. Paola, the owner, and her mother were so kind to give us all sorts of helpful information, treat us to tasty breakfasts and even make some coffee for our thermos on the morning of our departure. We'll certainly stay there again on another way to Greece and back home. On the negative side: the room looked rather small to us with no balcony at all if compared to the description in Booking.com. The bathroom could have more hooks and shelves. The linen was so old that looked like ready to be torn. But in general, for a short stay and the price we paid for 2 nights...
