Worst costumer care in all of our travels. The most unprofessional staff ever! Booked this place months in advance to enjoy a relaxing anniversary with my husband; our intention being of not leaving the resort and having all we need there. This is NOT a resort for relaxation, this is an event and wedding venue and all they care about is these events. Maybe during the week, they care more about regular customers, but in weekends forget about it! First, when we arrived, we were met by an unfriendly receptionist that could barely find us a parking place, although we reserved one and had a confirmation for this. So, don’t bother reserving, they just find one or at least try on the spot, so the reservation thing is just a lie. After 6 h of driving we were very hungry and went to their restaurant to eat: big surprise, no food available because they have an event and we should go somewhere else, no apologies. Why were we not informed of this at check in or in advance via email? So unconsidered, for a resort that is far from everything. The waiter wasn’t helpful at all and sent us walking to a restaurant near by that was all booked, big loss of time...while we were still very hungry. We just googled restaurant and went by car to the first hotel (5 min drive) and finally ate. Of course when we got back we did not find any parking spots and had to leave the car in a random place. It was very frustrating and not what I wanted for my relaxing trip and not what you would expect for 100E/night. The pool bar is also a lie, there's no such thing. There’s no service at the natural pool by the sea, you could die of thirst, there’s no waiter coming down there. My husband went to get a beer at the bar and the waiter was very rude. So, we decided that we will not eat or drink here, and went to Sozopol or Smokinya beach for everything we needed. Friday night there was a big event, loud music until 23:00 and on Saturday there was a wedding ceremony in the afternoon. These events took place on the lawn in front of the villas, and the rooms are not sound proof at all so imagine that for relaxation! I really did not pay all this money to be a spectator to somebodies wedding! Breakfast is barely edible, horrible coffee, almost no staff at breakfast to help (coffee machine is in chirilic letters for example). Yes, it’s beautiful, but so are so many other places on the Bulgarian seaside, especially at this price, would not recommend this place unless they change or train their staff. Had better costumer care in guesthouses in the middle of nowhere in...
Read moreThe room was nice and clean but the bathroom had a terrible moldy smell. We tried to use the vent fan and kept the door open to avoid mustiness from the shower but it didn’t help. The restaurant was disappointing. I understand we came at a low point in the season so the options were limited. However the prices were outrageous for what we got. We ordered a Greek salad and that was the only thing out of our dinner that was actually “ fresh” The pork ribs were dry and tough and they had a terrible BBQ sauce drowning them, probably used to mask the fact the meat was not fresh. I will give the fries a 10 but the pork ribs made me and my husband sick with diarrhea. The prawns were also terrible! They tasted frozen and the salad greens were old and bitter, they had quite a lot of brown leaves. The waitress was nice and the service was great but the food was awful! The complimentary breakfast was also terrible. The French toast was very spongy and had a weird oily aftertaste. The hard boiled eggs were impossible to open and were undercooked. The croissants looked like they were frozen and reheated but mine were so tough they were very hard to bite or tear. They were left in the microwave or oven too long so they didn’t have a nice airy light texture. The only redeeming quality was the view. The tablecloths were stained and the decor was...
Read moreAs a regular here, I can only recommend Anel as a place to enjoy and to re-visit in spite of some obvious flaws.||First tip: book well in advance ! ||We love this place, because it offers a quiet and premium way of taking a break. Even when it is fully booked, there is enough space and privacy to chill. The views are mesmerizing, the quality of the infinity pool is excellent, but the cherry of the cake is the salt water pool carved in the rocks and being filled with sea water. It is simply beautiful and you will be taking loads of pictures.||The rooms are spacious, with comfortable beda and pillows, big bathroom and all the amenities you could expect from a premium place (tennis court, fitness, spa, etc.)||The only place which has been Anel’s issue for years has been the restaurant. It does not quite much the level of the hotel (breakfast is good, though), but on the other hand there are so many nice things to try in Sozopol anyway. Service is not amazingly professional, but at least it is very attentive and helpful. ||In conclusion, this one of the few really premium places in Sozopol with stunning view, where you pay extra premium, but you get what...
