Gardenia Settlement||As we booked in the middle of the season we took a risk booking something new and unknown to us and we had a sort of “hit-and-miss” experience.||Gardenia settlement is situated in the southern and new part of Sozopol with pretty unpleasant infrastructure leading to it (yes, quite a normal thing to make a hotel without a proper road to it at the Bulgarian seaside).||We were nicely pleased with the calm pool and garden offering a proper respite from the crowded and noisy beach bars. The pool water was surprisingly clean and pool amenities were also fine. The staff was also friendly and caring. But these were the only positive things.||The disappointment came from the fact that the rooms either need renovation or were furnished with cheap furniture. The rooms were big (living room and bedroom), but all the furniture was worn out and simply seeming cheap. The bathrooms were in poor quality with even some rust on some metal elements. The airco was only in the living room so we had to keep it working in the living room so that we could get cold air in the bedroom.||In the end one very important note: if you book room/apartment for more than 2 people, please bear in mind that the third and fourth person will sleep on a couch (which becomes a bed) in the living room. This is a total shame, simply because the couch is far from being comfortable and this means that the couple in the bedroom will not have access to the air-conditioning situated in the living room.||A total shame!||So in the end, if you are a couple searching for something unpretentious and quiet, you might like it. Otherwise you will be disappointed, just like us. For this reason we will not be...
Read more"Gardenia" is just 9 minutes away from "Kavatsi" beach which is one of the best Bulgarian beaches in my opinion. This place has a really nice pool that is cleared daily and carefully. The restaurant is offering tasty food on reasonable price. Rooms are large enough. We had two air-conditioners, one of them was not working but the second one succeeded in cooling the whole apartment. The cable TV offers many sport channels. I liked the private parking - large and secured. ||The minuses - no WiFi. The hotel is placed far away from the city center. The good thing about it is that the place is quiet but if you love walking - be prepared for 30-40 minutes walk to Sozopol. The nearest supermarket is 15 minutes away and this is not cool when it is 35 Celsius outside. The worst part - the road is not paved - Ive seen cars with flowing oil. And it wasnt a single car for the week Ive been there. No street lights. Bring your own flashlight or dont stay late in Sozopol.||The stuff is nice...
Read moreThe apartments are nice and spacious, equipped with everything you might need. The view from the top floors is really good. The pool area and gardens are great and well-maintained. Its a nice 10 min walk to the Kavatzi beach and the only downside is that the complex can only be reached via a dirt-road (albeit a short one) - so families with strollers and very low cars, be aware.||Some other drawbacks - the Wifi is also very unreliable, personally for me this was not an issue, because I don't need constant internet access on my vacation, but some might find it unpleasant. The menu in the complex cafeteria is also very limited, but there are many food options int he other complexes around.||||I can definitely say the place is great...
