Worst experience for a self-proclaimed, so-called 5-star hotel. Every day was a new headache, right up to the very last day. Inoperable elevators, , no water pressure, warm refrigerator, terrible food, and worst of all, the customer service was nonexistent. On day one, I had very simple, non-demanding requests: 2 shower towels, 5 bottles of water daily, and to leave the key-card in the slot by the door. I had to request this almost daily for the entire duration of my stay. One day my request for water was made 3x over a 2 hour period which was met with a laugh by housekeeping and a snide smile by the desk attendant and the duty manager completely ignored the incident. On my checkout day, I was purposely charged 2x for one day which I disputed but never received a response. The only person that seemed to care about his clientele was the kitchen manager who was obviously disconcerted with his staff when I came to him with my complaints. The majority of the staff were lazy and obviously couldn't be bothered with the inconveniences of the clientele. There was no miscommunications through the entire stay, I may not speak French, but I certainly got my moneys worth with my...
Read moreTiama is conveniently located in the Plateau Area of Abidjan and has fantastic rooms. Their breakfast offering could however be improved upon with the addition of more options in their selections, especially for hot food. Unfortunately I got a bad stomach from eating beef for breakfast on Tuesday 13th April 2021 and suspect that the beef was not freshly prepared that morning. The WIFI password in the fitness centre should also be clearly displayed on the wall. In the absence of a fitness instructor, it was also not possible to access drinking...
Read moreHotel Tiama is among the first and the very few 5* hotels in Abidjan. It is located at the heart of Plateau, the business district. When you enter the reception hall, you're greeted with a very pleasant ambient fragrance. The atmosphere is charming, and the staff is professional. The hotel has multiple amenities as you'd expect from a 5*,it has a gym, a pool, a spa, a very nice south American style bar with a cigar area. The main and only restaurant l'Ambassadeur is great, with a variety of local and intercontinental dishes to choose from. A very special aspect of this hotel is the weekly cocktail the management offers to every customer, it's on Tuesdays at the reception hall, that's unique! You'll definitely enjoy your stay,...
