We moved from Seen hotel in Abidjan to Movenpick and we indeed got what we paid for.
Movenpick gave us 5 star treatment, the staff at the reception Benot and Jean were amazing from check in offering us help and they spoke English we could understand. They were all helpful from the 1st to the last day. The rooms were very clean and well layed out. Fresh smell everywhere and the ambiance was amazing. All we needed was provided swiftly. It was a relief to see different phone charging spots provided as we have a different charging port in my country.
At the dinning, the staff and manngers were lovely too. The selection of food was yummy and we had lovely breakfast everyday. Sarah, Ines and the hosts of them at the executive dining room we ate in were amazing. Smiles on their faces and ready to help. I had a cough the last 2 days and they made me this amazing ginger root tea that was just fabulous.
I was there with my friend for 7 days, we came for a Made in Nigeria Exhibition which meant long hours out in our booth, so we looked forward to going back to the hotel daily and it was a home away from home for us.
The only thing I want your management to check in your rooms is the softness of the pillows. We both slept with the smallest decorative pillow on the bed as the other two were a bit too high for our precious necks.
Thanks to the staff at Movenpick for making our stay in Abidjan memorable. Your hotel was indeed a highlight of our stay. I will...
Read moreThe place looks quite amazing, but the restaurant experience was quite disappointing for my friends and I. I'm not a picky person but I found the whole experience unacceptable. First of all, the whole place smells like cement or mold. From the parking to dinner area. Didn't like much the BBQ idea for dinner. For a place like that they could offer better. Also their menu card was quite weird. The QR code menu seemed to be for ice-cream only , so we ended up ordering only icecream The pineapple poke is way far the only good choice for icecream . It was indeed the highlight of my night there. Their icecream menu offered a honeymoon icecream that clearly indicates that's vanilla icecream with chocolate coulis but clearly we don't have the same definition of coulis because it was served with 2 scoops of plain vanilla and just a cookie and when we asked our waiter why no chocolate coulis was served he even laugh about it before suggesting to bring a small cup of chocolate syrup. He didn't apologize nor offered to replace what was clearly a failed order. The place was also quiet dead empty for a Saturday night, so ambiance was a bit weird, I don't recall listening...
Read moreNow this hotel is well located, at the heart of the business district 'Plateau'. It has so much benefits which I'll discuss later on. First the service is impeccable, every staff member is extremely friendly and welcoming, I guess it's something they have rooted in Ivory Coast culture. They will make you feel comfortable at the first contact and they are very professional. You do not get that very often. The amenities are on point, you have a very well decorated bar, the ambiance is cozy. You get to experience a great buffet with every meal, whether it's breakfast, lunch and dinner. You are offered intercontinental dishes and of course local delicacies. But the executive lounge at the 7th floor takes the crown, it's a posh and cozy eating area, with magnificent view of the city centre. You have multiple restaurants, banks, drug stores, grocery stores surrounding the hotel but everything is closed at night. You have a few options if you want to grab a drink or eat at night that are close-by, I recommend 'La croisette'. I more than recommend this hotel for your stay, whether it is a business trip or...
