Positives The local staff are friendly and work very hard The steam room & sauna are nice There’s a free to use pool table The food (when received correctly) is delicious
Negatives Unfortunately, overall our experience was not a great one. Along with the fact the hotel in general is quite run down with a fair bit of mould in the rooms and the water pressure being awful in the shower, we had a few standout issues that need to be addressed.
We thought we’d booked an AC room but after double checking before we arrived we realised we hadn’t. We asked if there was an AC room we could move to, which the hotel responded to to say yes and it was $15 a night (our original booking for ~$10 a night). Unfortunately we never saw this message and didn’t respond, but found out when we got there they had automatically moved us to that room and charged us for it. After some back and forth we were allowed to move back to our original room but when we got there the roof was leaking on the bed and it was due to rain all night. We obviously then asked to go back to the AC room but still had to pay full price for it, even though the room we’d booked was not functional. We were told it was impossible to go the National park in a tuk tuk and you had to drive your own bike. After speaking with friends we found out this wasn’t true at all, and was presumably just a ploy to get you to hire a bike from the hotel. There seems to be a lack of communication between whoever created the menu and the kitchen staff, as they don’t know what a lot of the things on the menu are. I ordered a build your own salad once and after ordering, the waitress came back to ask me what each individual item I’d selected was because she wasn’t sure, and I was then told some of them weren’t available. I’d ordered a roasted tomato dressing and I was given ketchup!! Luckily I asked for sauce on the side or my salad would have come covered in ketchup! Another example was we had some friends come and meet us for drinks and we ordered some ‘lemon drop’ shots. It was supposed to be vodka, sugar syrup and lemon but what we received was vodka with granulated sugar in it and a slice of lime on the side. The bed was arguably the most uncomfortable bed we’ve slept in in over 5 months of travelling. The mattress desperately needs replacing and is completed con-caved in the middle. It gave us both sore backs and we’re only in our 20s! The bathroom is just one big wet room, which is usually fine but the floor is SO slippy and there’s no bath mat anywhere for when you enter the bedroom. We gave our washing over on the first day and then got it back 2.5 days later (when we were checking out) and it was handed back to us still soaking wet and had someone else’s clothes in with ours, which we had to sort through ourselves. When we complained about it we were told ‘it’s because it’s been raining’ ?? If it’s not possible to have washing done when it’s raining, don’t offer washing services when it’s raining. Simple as. We were never told the washing would be left to dry outside, and if we were we would have got it washed elsewhere. We were offered a 50% refund and only after putting up a bit of a fight were we actually refunded for the whole wash. When it came to paying our bill, we were charged more for things than were on the menu. When we queried it, we were told ‘there’s 2 types of cheeses we use, one is 50c and one is $1’. The only one on the menu is 50c, there’s no mention of one for $1, yet we were charged $1. No effort was made to rectify this so we still ended up having to pay the higher price. Individually, if any of these things had occurred they would be annoying but forgivable, however we were only there for 3 nights and had issues every single day we were there. There was no effort made for rectifying mistakes, no apologies made and no compensation given, so overall we would not recommend others...

Negatives Very disappointed when arrived to see the apartment as it had no path going to it and looked like staff quarters, up some terrifying steps right out back. Lock was broken, I had to get a chain and padlock to secure it.Room was dirty with cobwebs and so so hot, I believed it was the fact the Aircon hadn't been on all day but I found out the hard way the next day that it was just the set up(need film on the windows and blackout curtains) Both fans didn't help as they were faulty. No safe in the room except the dusty one,not in use in the corner being stored with two modems, also not in use. No sheets for the sofa bed, when I asked she said "oh I do not put them on there" I replied "that's why I want one" She gave one after she realised I made sense. Low ceilings had myself and my son(5'9" & 5'7") banging our heads non stop (it's the attic so half the room is under 5ft) Ill supplied In the kitchen where the water was a trickle and everything was filthy, not even a cleaner or washing up liquid.Got up in the morning to find no mirror either, asked yesterday and still nothing. It's 6am and music is still banging from over the back. "Pool" is what we call a water feature in England, like in a old Victorian garden. It's slimy, very slippery with scum on the top. Jacuzzi is weak with scum on top too. I couldn't enjoy them as I had an open wound and thinking of flesh eating diseases sent me into a cringe. The smell of wet dog by the jacuzzi is gross. Didn't see free yoga. Not much shade by the pool area and even less loungers(no umbrella makes a lounger unusable in 90°) There were what I thought were dog houses dotted about the pool area and I joked to my son about it only to be informed they were rooms, doubles and all !!!!! .... "Froddo hut"....must be a "tent" experience? I couldn't sit on my "balcony" as no umbrella and elevated in the heat ALL day. Chairs, rails, everything burning hot from 10am till 7pm. At night so many bugs it was like Armageddon. Literally in swarms. Mozzies grate over the door was so stiff when I closed it it pulled out. All morning appointments for massage booked up online and I couldn't find a staff member. I found some rooms with nail varnish and that but I'm not sure if it was a store room. I saw no "massage parlour" as such.
3% charge on cards.
Positives....
Free sauna. There is a gym with alot of free weights, don't expect leisure center think more Rocky Balboa. Staff who I spoke to was happy and spoke REAL ENGLISH. Whole area is in the greenage, lots of geckos, spiders and butterflies. Very tranquil. Cats who arrive at the door are clean and gentle so bring some food as you can get in some free pet therapy. Fried Food was lovely, crunchy, fresh and served well. Lots of white people food 😂 Great music and atmosphere in the bar, feels like 1970s England.
Nice double bed(foam)with plump pillows and clean sheets. Towels, TP and soap. Minimal plastic waste here, fancy filter bucket in the bar to top up kettles and no plastic water bottles in room. Water free.
All in all I'm booking out early,2 days is enough. I have just received my refund in cash and all is fine. Very polite.
It's not a loss here it's just for me too many things are wrong. If I could of had the Aircon double downstairs I believe I may have been satisfied, I was offered alternatives however it's only double beds down there and she didn't understand I'm not wanting to be sharing a bed with my 20 year old son🤔
I did not put up videos of the pool and spa as they are true on...
Read moreI stayed in a 4 bed dorm, with attached bathroom for 2 nights. There is a lot to say about Bohemiaz. First off is it's location: it's pretty far out of town on a turn off that is easy to miss if you don't know what to look for (The Orchid resort signs). This can be an advantage in that it has a quiet countryside setting, or a disadvantage in that it can be hard to get to town. I rented a motor scooter in town and that made staying here great. Second is the atmosphere. This place has amazing atmosphere -- it's very chill and just invites you in to relax on a hammock by the Natural pool (no chemicals means plenty of algae growing on the walls, so the pool isn't going to be for everyone). There are complementary Yoga and dance classes for guests. I attended 3 and all were great. There is a steam room, sauna, and weight room, all complementary for guests. The atmosphere at the bar/restaurant was very nice, and I had several great conversations with fellow guests there, and I'm not an outgoing person. The restaurant had expensive prices so I didn't eat there but others said it was good. I took my scooter into town for meals which worked just fine. Now for the bad: while the dorm bed was comfortable and quite wide, the room itself tended to get stuffy and moist with the door closed. This is partially helped by the fan and propping the windows open, but that requires everyone in your dorm to be on the same page. The place wasn't spotlessly clean. It wasn't dirty... But it wasn't up to the standards of similarly priced properties in town. There was also an issue with my bill. This place makes their money on food, and charges everything to your tab. That's fine, but I was given 2 scoops of ice cream when I ordered one, didn't realize it at the time, and didn't see a bill to clarify it. Also, I got a discounted rate on my reservation through a website, but when I extended for a second night the rate I was being charged changed, but I was not informed. Together these issues resulted in a bill that was 25% higher than I expected when I checked out. All of which could have been easily avoided by confirming prices with me when I requested services. I took off two stars for these issues but I had to add one back for how fantastic the atmosphere is, and what a deal the accommodations are. This place is a tremendous value if you are planning to rent a scooter anyway, and you plan to have some of your meals in town. It's a perfect place to relax, focus on living healthy and get away from it all. There are also cats and dogs that live on the premises. Some are quite friendly, so people with allergies may want to consider other options, but animal lovers may find...
