Mama Boutique Kampot (Mama's Family) — Hotel in Kampot

I heard about the place through a warm recommendation from a friend. Recommended rightly. Place itself on the side of the river and not on the side of the city, which provides quiet and great pastoral view and vibes! |The place still just a few minutes to the center with a tuktuk or motorcycle. The place Is new, very clean, clean rooms with air conditioner and hot water. The staff are so kind and nice and always helped us with any problem / question. We (me and my boyfriend) arrived the first day earlier than expected, around 4 am and they gave us the room with no additional charge, although check-in was later. Rude staff demanding tips to clean the room. We woke up to the strong smell of burning plastic we rushed out to see if the hotel was on fire. We couldn't see any staff but we noticed a bonfire right next to the hotel on land they own. They were burning plastic and not paying for it to be collected by trash men. We both had bad headaches that day and couldn't use the room. We also noticed 6, 30 liter plastic gasoline containers full of gasoline taken out of motorcycles that they rent. Right next to the hotel. We could have died. No place to eat near by. And over changed for a trike that took an hour to arrive. Worse place to stay that's why the rooms are so cheap. But you pay more if you need to go out. 5 USD to go 5 to come back. So 20 a night. Staff don't like non...

Booked 2 nights online and stayed almost a month! Hostel located on the other side of the river, busy road but nice to be out of town. So clean everywhere, huge beds, controllable hot water in the shower!|Huge balcony where we homeschooled our daughter when the sun was at it’s hottest each day. |Mamas restaurant next door on the river, beautiful food and views. |More than a hostel, the family here make it so perfectly - we had such a nice welcome arriving late with a poorly child, they even brought our food to the room.
