Nataya Roundhouse Coral Bay Resort is about 15 kilometers from the city of Kampot. Renting a moto or two is a good idea to get back and forth. The main highway is good but the road connecting the resort to the highway is very full of holes and it is quite broken up. The grounds are spacious. It feels remote. The sunsets and sunrises are spectacular if it is not cloudy. They have a long jetty out into the Gulf of Thailand which is a wonderful place to sit and contemplate. The rooms are unique, clean and the room service is amazing. The menu is extensive for Khmer food and more limited for Western food. It is great if you want to experiment and get to know the local cuisine because it is well-done and delicious. The staff are helpful if you need help in figuring out how to eat something. Portions are never individual. All dishes are made to share with one or two more people and it is worth keeping this in mind when ordering. The beds each have a beautiful mosquito netting. The nights are quiet. They do not have facecloths so bring your own. The pool is expansive and very clean. They have bicycles and kayaks that also can be used at no charge but we did not try them. The grounds are walled and secure at night. They even grow many of the vegetables and herbs that are used in their cuisine on site. The bathtubs are not really worth using because the hot water runs out before the tub is full. The outdoor showers are private and it is fun to look up at the sky. The air conditioning...

The location is most excellent - offering a sunset and a sunrise view, quiet, 'off the beaten track.' There were very attentive and accommodating and friendly staff both on email and in-person after arrival. [And, as a shout out to management, I had to cut-short my visit due to an emergency and they were very accommodating with the refund as well as arranging an excellent taxi service back to Phnom Penh at very short notice.]

Rooms (sea view) are moderate in size, but with a nice big verandah and a 'garden shower' in addition to the regular shower. Overall cleanliness in the bathroom could have been improved - mirrors and the shower walls had residual soap scum.... :-(

The pool is gorgeous, big and clean with a variety of places to sit that do not make it feel crowded even when multiple people are there.

Food was a little expensive and the wine selection limited (though must acknowledge that this place is a bit far out of town...) but all was tasty and beautifully presented.

Of course the 250 metre jetty is a HIGHLIGHT!

The whole place is nicely spread out so you can stay away from others if that is your preference. There are many, many quirky things on scattered across the grounds: swings of different kinds, intentional photo-op locations, etc.

There are many activities that the hotel will assist with - kayaking, fishing,...

We had an amazing stay at Nataya Round House this week. It's quiet, right on the water, and the service is so wonderful. Many thanks to Min Pai, who made our stay so nice. He went out of his way to make sure that we had everything we needed. He even found out it was our wedding anniversary and arranged a romantic dinner on the waterfront for us. He is a great manager, and his staff is well trained. The facilities are well maintained and clean, including the cute bungalows, which afforded privacy and comfort. It's a great place to escape for a few days. Just a couple of notes to make everything clear. First, there is no beach with ocean swimming at this hotel. There is a sandy area and a fabulous swimming pool, but you cannot go in the ocean. The salt water pool is currently closed. Secondly, Nataya is about 40 minutes by tuk-tuk out of Kompot, so it's kind of secluded. That was great, as we were looking for a little retreat to relax. But it means the only meal choice is the restaurant, which we found to be quite yummy and reasonably priced. This is a fantastic place for families to play together or couples/singles to find a retreat. If I lived in Cambodia, it would be my "go to" place for a...

We were a large group. We arrived just before all the rooms were ready so we had to wait a while. The staff offered a welcome drink and worked hard to get us quickly into our rooms. Our room was clean and adequate with a comfortable bed, strong air-conditioning and several amenities. The shower was outside in sort of a garden setting. We ate all our meals on the premises (they don't allow outside food), and found the servings large and the food tasty. The club sandwich was a favourite. Breakfast was super with a wide choice of dishes. The coffee is the very dark robousta, but it did the job. We rented the meeting room which was prepared for us each day with water and candies. Everything was in good working order. A tropical storm had moved in as we arrived, so we were unable to enjoy the swimming pools or the beach. They had fishing rods available and kayaks, but the weather did not permit. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I'm sure we will be back.

Booked 3 nights with Delux king Sea view, liked it so much we stayed for 8 nights. Food was amazing and staff the best in Cambodia. Please take into account your beside the sea and surrounded by trees and plants so there will be wildlife lol. It's not 5 star but the surroundings and view and service make up for the odd imperfection. We choose it to relax after a busy 2 weeks driving around on a motorbike so we thoroughly enjoyed the pool and beach. Also saw some lovely sunsets while sat on our balcony.
