Captain Chims Guesthouse — Hotel in Kep

Favourite place I've stayed on my trip round SE Asia! Super affordable. Clean, quiet rooms with an ensuite. Lovely, peaceful, relaxing courtyard - perfect for napping in hammocks. Can get washing done, rent scooters and get info about other things around town directly from here. The family that run this place are the highlight. Rhea (not sure how to spell sorry!) is an absolute legend! So friendly and helpful. Even went out of her way and bought us a couple of iced coffees as we were leaving 😍🥹. Her daughter has also inherited this friendliness, coming home from school each day to chat and plays games with us. We were originally meant to stay 3 nights but extended to 8 as we just felt so at home in this guesthouse. If you want a relaxing, cheap, and overall lovely stay, book here. It’s a lovely guesthouse. Hosts are lovely, offer bus transfers, motorbike rent and they have a restaurant down the road. The restaurant is cheap and lovely food for all meals of the day. There’s a chill out area to relax with hammocks. The rooms are very clean, shower is warm and powerful enough. Bed is comfy and the rooms have a fan. There is an extra fee for air conditioning. The fee for air con is a bit pricy. However, the price of the guesthouse is cheap and extremely good for the price. Good for backpackers. Happy with my stay! I also thought the guesthouse was peaceful and got a good sleep. The location is decent but you need a bike...

I have really enjoyed my stay at Captain Chims. The location is convenient, not far to walk to local restaurants - I recommend Pintor Restaurant. I recommend hiring a bike to see the nearby attractions, the bike rental is €5 a day with good helmets included.

The family are really friendly and helpful, we booked our bus ticket here back to Kampot with pickup from the guesthouse.
