I accidently booked this accomodation. After reading the other reviews of rats and unclean bathrooms, I thought not even being right on the beach is worth it. Surprise. I booked it mistakenly but can update its reviews. It is what it is BUT the bathrooms were clean, they had toilet paper and even toilet bowl cleaning pucks in the tanks??? There were 2 older men there; one greek and one russian decent, I believe and a young man who served us drinks and a greek snack from the menu (which was fine). My overall impression is that they are trying or maybe it is that the 2 older gents have a vested interest in the business and were present. Also, the huts had all been wrapped in a mesh, I presume to help with mosquitos. Also, the roofs were steel and the corners had been sealed with a plastic wrap in the corners of our hut too. I assume that was to help with the "rodents". The towels, mosquito netting and linens were kind of sad.The restaurant filled with a few tables of diners while we played cards. People seemed pleased with the food and portions. All in all, I am writing this because I saw an effort compared to the scary reviews I read. The cabins are close together and there is nothing to be done about that. If you are a back packer or budget/rustic kind of traveller, you...
Read moreAbsolutely beautiful fitout, the chairs are comfortable and the view is fantastic. One of the best places to see the sunset. The owner is very friendly and looked after his guests.
Only a couple of negative comments, one being that out the front there was a sign saying there were rooms available for $4 and a bungalow for $7 but after enquiring about these rooms we were told they were taken and had to pay $10 for a bungalow without a fan (they happily provided one with only 1 speed setting) only to eventually find out we were the only guests.
Another was the promise of wifi in the rooms of which there was none. Barely even able to get cellphone reception in the rooms.
Last there are some places along the beach strip that play loud music until late in night and sometimes even all night long. For a place we were told was quiet it was a bit of a let down.
All in all it wasn't a bad experience and i hope others...
Read moreSurprising this property managed to stay on the OTA platforms. the building seems not designed as a hotel or commercial accommodation, being sandwiched between an incomplete hotel and rubble. with no direct sunshine thus exacerbating the mould problem. Multiple rooms are mouldy and towels are visibly not laundered.||Staff don't care (could ventilate rooms between guests??), neither did they understand even basic concepts communicated in written Khmer, seems illiterate. ||My stay there was pre-billed by Agoda, and the property refused to refund in face of the evidence presented. The owner is unable to deny the problems, but claimed because the room rate is low, the problems are acceptable.||This I had to lose my money and leave the place without staying.||However similarly budget rooms near the Preah Sihanoukville town do not have...
