This three day break was a late notice decision, and we choose this place solely on the basis of looking on Trip Advisor and typing in “Sihanoukville pet friendly hotel”|We got lucky with the results and ended up at this really stunning place. It’s all less than a year old so most of the fittings in the rooms/ restaurant furniture etc are all still in good condition.|The check in process was slick and smooth and in no time we were in our beach front cabin and the dog was chasing kids along the beach….||Cabins are nicely appointed, with big bathrooms, crisp fresh sheets on the bed, fast Wi-Fi, and very efficient aircon.||I had read a couple of reviews that criticised the efficiency of the bedroom aircon given the odd shaped cabin roofs and the very real fact that their design and dark exteriors means they must retain heat like crazy, but to be honest we didn’t find it a problem. The aircon unit pretty quickly chilled the room.|We liked the big rustic style bathroom too, although the aircon didn’t extend to bathroom so middle of the night pee-runs meant you went from freezing cold bedroom to steam bath heat bathroom and back||The public areas are well laid out and there was always room to find a quiet table to eat, despite the resort being pretty busy (with it being public holiday weekend). There were separate areas to relax and eat/drink, from inside the restaurant, to poolside cabanas , and in between.||The staff were pretty attentive although one or two that we got seemed quite inexperienced, and that, mixed with the fact that my West of England accent was a probably rare for them to experience, meant not every order was fulfilled without mistake. But it didn’t ruin anything for us. Any mistakes were corrected without fuss||I was expecting the on site restaurant (being quite remote from the city) and hence having a monopoly, to be a little expensive, and it was, but we knew from booking that this wasn’t a budget hotel so that wasn’t a shock or a major issue. But you should be aware it’s not budget accomodation……..The food quality was seriously good. Everything we ordered was fresh, tasty, well cooked, and really well presented||One area where the staff, and the GM especially, went above and beyond the call of duty was when our dog got sick, they organised a driver to take my wife and the mutt to a veterinarian without fuss and at no additional charge. We were most grateful for this. They could easily have slapped a big charge on our room but they could see my wife was distressed at the dogs condition so they just acted. Big kudos to them for this, that was a quality response…..||There are loads of staff here and they do seem well trained to anticipate clients needs and offer their help rather than standing back and waiting to be waved at. I particularly like the fact that they do this also with pretty much a constant smile on their faces, and that even includes the guys who sweep the beach and empty the bins. Good training and recruitment shows through in moments like that, the staff were all a credit to their company.||For those expecting a “David Attenborough”style marvel of mother nature, you won’t find that here. The beach is man made, the whole area is reclaimed land, and you drive through a massive building site from the city to get here. But you could and would pay a lot more to go out to the islands, and with time against us, and us wanting to take the dog, for a short break, the nice gently shelving water in the bay was perfect for what we wanted. ||We will definitely be back to this resort. The relatively quick journey here from PP just adds to its score for us.|Many thanks to Lima and his team for making our...
Read moreOur stay at Summer Bay was truly amazing! The property is beautiful, private, and very clean. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, and the fact that the resort is pet-friendly is a huge plus for us!||When we arrived, we were greeted by Sokhorn, who helped us check in. The process was a breeze with a warm welcoming. We stayed in Cabins #25 and #26, both oceanfront with breathtaking views, just steps away from the beach. The cabins were cozy and comfortable, with a spacious indoor/out bathroom feel. The only thing missing was a closet, which would have made the stay even more convenient.|Krouch, another staff member at reception, went above and beyond by driving us around and even taking us on a quick city tour. He was incredibly kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Everyone we’ve encountered during our stay was professional, attentive, and genuinely kind; from the bartenders and servers to the cooks. Sophia, one of the morning servers, was especially attentive and made our breakfasts delightful.||Our overall experience went beyond expectations. Even our little Yorkie had a wonderful time and felt welcomed everywhere we went! He enjoyed running along the beach. The beach was gorgeous and peaceful. Although it was the rainy season and the sand was firm, if they could fluff it up the sand a bit, it would be absolutely perfect!!! ||Thank you to everyone at Summer Bay Resort for such a warm and memorable stay. We can’t wait to return, and already thinking of planning...
Read moreSummer Bay is part of Bay of Lights just outside Sihanoukville. It is a wonderful place to stay. The service throughout my stay was exceptional. Every staff member I encountered seemed genuinely dedicated to ensuring I had an unforgettable experience. Whether it was in the restaurant or the housekeeping staff who went above and beyond to accommodate a special request, the level of care was outstanding.||The cabins are superb and very cosy, they are just on the beach and are of the highest quality. The outside bathroom was equally impressive, with high-end toiletries, fluffy towels, and a powerful shower that made it feel like a spa experience. ||The restaurant offered an impressive variety of both local and western dishes, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The breakfast spread was extensive, offering everything from made-to-order omelets to fresh fruit, pastries, and freshly brewed coffee.||If you're looking for a place that combines luxury, comfort, and impeccable service, look no further than the Bay of Lights. My holiday was wonderful and I can’t wait to return. It’s clear that the team here takes pride in creating a memorable and enjoyable experience for...
