I booked the 5 night total relaxation package and was massively disappointed. ||It got off to a bad start as I booked an airport pickup through the hotel who didn't show up, I emailed them and ended up waiting over an hour at the airport after travelling 17 hours already.||On arrival I was shown to my room (double with balcony) but none of the staff could explain what was included from the menu in my package- luckily someone who arrived the day before talked me through it. I was told they were short staffed because of a national holiday.||Come the evening the couple running things showed up- Radley explained the food and shakes were all included but you can tell his heart wasn't in it, he and Jade left the resort the week I was there because of bad management.||I have to say the food was great although often slow to arrive and one day the kitchen was closed 11.30am to 1.30pm so everyone had to wait to order lunch. There is a water cooler with drinking water available to fill a reusable bottle that you are given when you book a retreat which is a nice touch.||The room was spacious although uneven flooring and jet lag led to a few bruises. I was upgraded to a balcony room (7) and didn't like that the room next door have to walk through your balcony to get to their room. I had a strange chinese man peering through my window at me one evening which made me very uncomfortable.||Marco the yoga instructor was fantastic however the location for the yoga is all wrong. You can't use the floating platform on the lake as there are too many flies (flies and mosquiots are everywhere here) so the classes are on the balcony above the restaurant. Not only do you have to battle with the noise and smell from the kitchen but the biggest distraction is the noisy groups and families in the pool who have no respect for the yoga classes. We had to abandon one afternoon session because the noise was too distracting for the instructor to continue. ||Despite putting the sign on the door to make up the room 2 days running and eventually asking the staff to clean my room all that happened was the bed was remade. In 5 nights I had no fresh towels and the bathroom bin was not emptied. In a country where you don't flush paper this seems highly unsanitary.||The spa treatments were good although the spa girl is a little heavy handed and drew blood during a pedicure.||The owners of this resort need to decide if they hold yoga retreats or family holidays as currently neither are being properly served. I would not recommend this place for a...
Read moreThis is an oasis in the heart of Sensok for us. We live in Toul Kork area and I am so happy that we discovered this place!
Though we know that the resort has been operating for quite some time already, it is a peaceful place to relax and to just let our children enjoy the pool, lake, fresh cool afternoon breeze and trees! Our room (Room 4) was perfect for our family of 5 (2adults, 16yo, 10yo, 4yo) and we have the basic stuff that we need. We love the beds with fresh clean beddings and towels. And plus for me is that they provided a bolster pillow for each bed ( we have 2 king size beds) for i cannot sleep not having one. The receptionist (speaks English well) and cooks were so kind to us! We tried their cookies, iced coffee and curry with bread and it was good! We definitely love the ambiance… 🍃
The guard was so kind to us, offering us a big umbrella as we went into our car one rainy afternoon. He also let us park our car inside the premises using the backdoor gate. When we decided to have a night swimming, he gave us Off lotion in case we need it against mosquito bites and also turned on extra lights to let the kids enjoy as much as they want. Pool was clean and filters are working.
AC’s were strong enough to keep us cool as we sleep during the night (staying here for 2 nights).
Will definitely bring some friends next t time and we will...
Read moreSamathi Lake is a great place to escape Phnom Penh without having to go too far outside the city. The staff = 5 star. Very friendly and attentive. The facilities = 5 star. Clean and a bargain for the price. The food = 1 star. While the food at the Saturday night barbeque party is great, everything we ate off the menu was terrible. Possibly the worst I've had at any resort or hotel in Phnom Penh. I had a falafel burger the dog wouldn't even finish -- and it was $7. Spring rolls with no glass noodles -- just rice paper wrapped around some vegetables. Anyway, of they ever get their kitchen in order, it would be a great place to frequent. When you only have a couple days off and you want to sit by the pool or lake and just unwind, I would choose Samathi... but i would bring my own food or find a...
