My stay at this hostel (in October 2024) was extremely disappointing, and I would strongly advise others to avoid it. From the outset, it was nearly impossible to get a proper night's sleep. I had booked the only private room, which, oddly enough, has a window that opens directly onto the reception area. This meant I could hear every conversation, every bit of music, and all the general noise coming from downstairs. Although the hostel's rules say that quiet time starts at 10 p.m., this rule isn't enforced. On both nights, a guest continued playing music loudly past the curfew. I got up, dressed up, went downstairs and approached him directly on the first night, and while he initially agreed to stop, the music resumed as soon as I went back to my room. There's no staff present at night, so there was no one to enforce the rules. By the way, the hostel's rules say that "disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated". When I raised the issue with the receptionist the following morning, asking that the disruptive guest leave, he said he'd speak with the manager. The next day, I asked for an update, only to be told that the manager hadn’t responded. I then asked to text the manager myself on Telegram. The manager didn't reply anything meaningful to me either. Tried to evade the question. Given the shameless manager, I don't think anyone should support this hostel. The room itself was uncomfortable in other ways, too. The air conditioning unit would shut off every 8 minutes, requiring manual resetting each time — a problem the receptionist acknowledged, handing me a pin to press the reset button. This did little to solve the issue. The bathroom, shared with the room, was consistently humid. With no shower cubicle—just an open floor shower—and a door that constantly shut, moisture had nowhere to escape, making it an unpleasant space to use. On top of this, people smoked freely in the reception area, and the receptionist allowed it. The smoke would drift up into my room, making the air even less breathable. And despite the hostel branding itself as a "Working Space," there was absolutely nothing resembling a usable workspace. If they’re referring to the reception area—filled with smoke and noise, and often doubling as a social hub—it’s entirely unsuitable for work of any kind. The kitchen, while present, was unusable: there was always a pile of unwashed dishes and cutlery in the sink (see the attached picture). Cleanliness of the reception area was also questionable. On one of the mornings, there was dirt on the floor where people remove their shoes. Apparently, it rained the previous night, and that wet dirt that people brought on their shoes dried up. As I was saying, I stepped out in the morning - when I came back in the afternoon, the floor still hadn't been cleaned.
The only redeeming aspect of the place was the receptionist himself: kind, helpful and clearly doing his best in that bad situation. It's a shame such a great employee has to work under such...
Read moreA very good hostel. I think the place is very new. I was in the female dorm. The rooms and toilet&bath are super clean. The beds are like box beds, so you have 2 kinds of light, 2 plugs, an optional table, a little closet to hang your clothes, and many shelves!! You have as well a locker for your backpack. The hostel is run by a very kind vietnamese guy, he helped me with everything and was very attentive. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the location. The hostel is quite far from the center. Each ride to the center will cost you around 5 real. Also, the street was kind of poor and scary to walk in after sunset. And the tuktuks found it quite difficult to drive in the very narrow and bumpy road. Overall, I recommend it if you have a motorbike or you don't mind being far...
