We stayed here for 3/5 nights and were extremely disappointed as soon as we arrived.
The entire hotel looks very run down, and looks nothing like it's advertised online. Theres litter pretty much everywhere, even by the rooms and on the floor, and the pool was unusable due to leaves and other debris inside of it, as well as structural damage to the decking (staff told us to only use a small section) as they're not sure how safe the rest is.
The rooms themselves were okay, but smelt like damp and bad drainage. WiFi was awful, and no signal in rooms. Only 1 of our bed side lamps worked, there were stains and a rip in our bed sheets, and the mattress was very hard and springy. Additionally, the shower only stays warm when on very low pressure.
The onsite restaurant is quite expensive for Cambodian standards, and quality of food was sub par. We ate here once and opted to eat outside of the restaurant for the rest of our stay.
As for the environment, the hotel is situated right by what can only be described as a dumping ground. There's litter all over the floor ie: (burnt out wood, broken tiles, metal, plastic, and a load more rubbish that covers the beach and walkways). Additionally, for some reason, there always seems to be a pile of rubbish on fire everyday along the beach (burning a whole assortment of carcinogenics causing thick heavy black fumes, and it smells awful.
It's a real shame as the beach and hotel could be beautiful if it was taken care of, maintained and cleaned properly.
We left after 3 days. Would not...
Read moreI will give a 4 stars review as I was pretty harsh but fair on other platforms until this morning that the manager came to see me and apology. |To start with the property is on one side of the island where at the moment they are the only one operating safe no choice unless you rent a boat to go explore other beaches. The place is cool and relax but that’s all you can do so bring a lots of books or games in case of rain as there are no TV in the rooms (not a complaint) We had the beach front Deluxe Double room which was correct. The bedding is very good as well as the linen that is a plus. We had some issue with the food offering which at first sight look extensive but half of it is not available so not much choice left. The staff is very courteous and smiling just miss some clue about service and going the extra mile for guests. Example:?: he night of our arrival there were a barbecue beach party with loud music until 11:00pm literally under our window, which no one mentioned when we checked in or after dinner. If you lay at the pool and want a drink you have to get up and go asked at the bar none one comes around to check. All those things that make a great vacation were lacking. Be careful the food is not cheap (as they are the only option) but not bad for what was available. Breakfast is only OK nothing waoooo for an important meal. Again not to avoid to give it a try is worth it for the beach the...
Read moreWe just checked out of One beach resort. This hotel is located on a beautiful private beach. The rooms have everything you need. The hotel also has a restaurant serving delicious dishes and drinks, and a swimming pool overlooking the sea. But the most important thing that makes this place unique are the wonderful hotel employees who treated us like family. First of all, Khemara and Shell are the people who took care of us before our arrival, helping us book transport, and then taking care of us like family on site. And the chef of kitchen and the gentleman from the office, always dressed in a white shirt and willing to help and answer every question (sorry we didn't remember his name). We only mention these four people, but every hotel employee was incredibly positive, smiling and helpful. And it is mainly thanks to these people that this hotel is unique and we would love to come back :) Thank you very much for the wonderful birthday gift, it was very nice for us! Best regards,...
