Ing Ing Guesthouse — Hotel in Koh Rong Sanloem

The family was nice so that’s why I will give them 3 stars but to be honest it wasn’t that good. The price is not bad and the restaurant is good food for the price but the stay wasn’t the best.

At first you have to climb a very steep stairs which is almost a ladder. To do this with a backpack and luggage requires quite a strong individual and if you have a bad knee or something, good luck with the stairs.

Then the AC, it works fine but the room has like ventilation holes so the cold air goes out very quick. Also the power on the island sometimes goes out for like 2-3 hours. Not really the owners fault but also never mentioned and having an AC doesnt really work when you have no power.

Also, the water is cold/medium. It’s hot outside ofcourse to it isnt the worst but there was also a day where we didn’t have any water. And after a day at the beach with sand everywhere a shower is needed.

At last the noice, i’m not sure if it’s Ing Ing or the neighbours but they will begin with construction work with heavy equipment at like 8:30am. Not really nice if you want...

The room has a fan and airconditioning, however when I got here I was told I had to pay extra for a/c despite Agoda mentioning it was included. There is no hot water but it was not needed for me (the water is lukewarm, not cold). It can be a bit noisy at times but it wasn't that bad as other reviews mentioned. The restaurant downstairs has good food with fair prices, both for breakfast and dinner. Lot's of people visited the owner to book tickets for buses or boat trips, from them and my personal experience he did not seem unfriendly. The WiFi was a bit shaky at times with the occasional power cut as well but still nothing major. Only thing I didn't like was that the double bed had two different mattresses with a different height (or a very deformed one I'm not sure) that made it not very comfortable laying in the middle of the bed.

Review for restaurant and Buva sea boat ticket service only. Fruit salad $2 usd , small but ok for the price. Fried aubergine and chicken with rice was a good portion and delicious. Passion fruit soda was refreshing , a little more expensive than a few other places but it was also a larger size — so all good! High speed catamaran boat from and to M’pai bay , koh Rong , Sihanoukville. They also sell Buva sea boat tickets to Sihanoukville and have a convenient early boat from Mpai bay 6:30 am checkin arriving Sihanoukville around 7:45/8 am. One way costs $14. We could pre book the boat the night before, paying cash, in M’pai bay village at ing ing guest house and check they were still running depending on weather condition conditions .
