The Mane Hariharalaya is an outstanding, world class hotel. We stayed for a week in a private villa so we could explore Angkor Watt and Siem Reap.||Our personal butler, Many, was the superstar of our stay. She arranged everything from our airport transfers to day trips and tuk tuk rides as well as ensuring the hotel services such as the spa were ready when we needed them. Many is an absolute gem!||Starting with the hotel location. The luxury stilted villas are made with dark wood and clay tiles and blend perfectly with the rice paddies and lakes. It is a lovely quiet location but only 30 mins easy drive from the airport and a 20 min tuk tuk ride to the old city and pub street.||We stayed in the so called Rainy Season of early August. It was a brilliant time to visit. The countryside is green and lush, and there are no tourist crowds or queues. It rains most afternoons for maybe an hour but the rest of the time it is bright and sunny. It can feel very humid just before the rain but we soon got used to this. I strongly recommend a visit to Cambodia in August.||The hotel services are excellent. We had a massage every day at the spa and this was professional and relaxing. The therapists really know their stuff. The restaurant is excellent with the local dishes being superb. The cocktails are mixed with passion! There is a small gym at the hotel with some cardio machines and light free weights. It is enough to blow the cobwebs away but serious gym freaks will need to find a gym in town with more stations.||There are two swimming pools at the hotel. One is a salt water pool and the other is chlorine. They are perfect for splashing around or serious lengths. There are also kayaks and pedalos for the lake but we didn’t try these.||Many, our superstar personal butler, organised our trips and transfers. The transfers were by luxury car and were very comfortable. Our pick up driver kept using his mobile while driving even after we asked him to stop. We told Many, our butler, who fixed the problem immediately. It was a local taxi company not the hotel car. For our return drop off to the airport we had the hotel car and driver and this was flawless. Thanks again Many!||The day trips and tours that Many organised were excellent. I highly recommend the temple tuk tuk tour as this allows you to enjoy the sights and scenery at a slow relaxed pace. We of course visited Angkor Watt and other temples. With hindsight, we should have spread this out over two or three days instead of cramming it all in at once. We were exhausted but nothing the spa therapists couldn’t fix! The other key trip we did was the Cambodia Land Mine Museum. An essential trip for everyone visiting Cambodia in my view.||The staff at the hotel and people of Cambodia are very polite, kind and respectful and their country is beautiful and fascinating. I strongly recommend Cambodia as a holiday destination, Mane Hariharalaya as a hotel and Many as your...
Read moreI recently stayed at a private resort in Siem Reap, Cambodia, which was advertised as a high-end glamping destination with a dedicated butler service. Given the resort’s reputation and price point, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of what was promised. Below are the major issues I encountered: Insect Infestation Despite carefully opening and closing doors and keeping windows shut to prevent mosquitoes and other insects from entering, I still found crickets and grasshoppers crawling around at night. I caught more than five myself, yet they kept appearing. The lack of any visible pest control measures in a so-called luxury resort is unacceptable. Communication Failures The staff informed me that the hotel phone line was down and asked me to contact them via WhatsApp. However, when I needed assistance in the evening, they did not respond to my messages or calls. This left me feeling stranded and ignored, especially at a property that advertises round-the-clock butler service. Broken Air Conditioner The room had two air conditioners, but only one was supposed to cool the space without blowing directly onto the bed. Unfortunately, that unit did not work at all. In a tropical climate, air conditioning is essential for a comfortable stay, and having a broken unit with no immediate fix is completely unsatisfactory. Excessive Noise A wedding party nearby played loud music late into the night, making it impossible to relax or sleep. No warning was given beforehand, and the resort provided no solution or compensation for the disturbance. Poorly Maintained Coffee Machine The in-room capsule machine had a used capsule stuck inside, which I had to remove by hand before it could be used. The drip tray was also not emptied. These basic housekeeping oversights are especially frustrating given the resort’s advertised level of luxury.
Overall, I feel that the resort’s high price and positive ratings do not reflect the reality of the experience. I strongly urge Agoda to investigate these issues and ensure that future guests receive the quality of service this property claims to offer. My stay was nowhere near the standard expected of a “luxury” resort, and I hope to see significant improvements, should anyone consider booking this property...
Read moreThe Mane Hariharalaya is a paradise near the bustling city of Siem Reap. We had originally booked the Mane Boutique hotel, but because of an online over booking error we were lucky enough to be upgraded to the Mane Hariharalaya. Once we got to the property we really felt in awe. The resort is beautiful. Every detail put into the planning and creation of the property shines throughout your stay. You really get to experience how kind and hospitable the Khmer people truly are. By the end of our stay we were so sad to leave them. Chreb or “Jack” is a rare Gem. I can not say enough about how wonderful this Man is. His kind smile and friendly personality is really what makes your stay truly perfect. He helped organize all of our travel to and from the old market and city center. He gave great advice on places to eat and what to see. He helped arrange a beautiful dinner at the resort, as well as many massages which were very professional and enjoyable. The food was incredible and so fresh. We will miss all of the staff and think about our amazing stay for years to come. Bicycles were available everywhere on the property. The staff would wave and say hello as we would ride from our villa to the main building or to the pool. Everything was extremely clean and pristine. They provide paddle boats to row around the lake in the middle of property and the pools were a dream! We hope to get the pleasure of staying at the Mane Hariharalaya again. If you get the opportunity to stay her take it! And if you are considering this resort for your trip to Siem Reap don’t hesitate, you...
