We paid $16 for a twin room with a/c ,hot shower and tv .Wifi was really good in the room and the place was really clean .The hotel was really clean and the beds really comfortable .The staff had limited English but were helpful and they spoke enough to get by , and booked our tickets to Phnom Penh .|Preah Vihear City used to be called Tbeng Meanchey , and is pretty uninspiring but the people are very friendly and its easy to arrange transport to Preah Vihear temple from here .Its 115 km to the temple from town , we hired a local private taxi for the trip there and back .After a lot of haggling we paid $55 for the 230 KM round trip including waiting time .As there were 3 of us to share the cost of the taxi , the price seemed reasonable .On the way to the temple we stopped in the town of Sra Em for food and drinks , and were really happy that we chose not to stay there .|There are few restaurants with an english menu in Preah Vihear City , but down the road from Ly Hout Guesthouse - next door to the American British School ( approx 10 minute walk ) we found a really good place to eat at cambodian prices .Its called The Green House Restaurant , and the food was really tasty there and the staff really kind and attentive .If you walk in and ask they will get the full English language menu...

Morning view of the GH was beautifully backed by a mountain and low clouds.|The front staff didn't speak much English but basic necessary communication was ok. AC room was USD16, fan...
