Has Potential, But Needs Improvement
We stayed at Pursat River Hotel for $50 a night and, while there were some good points, the experience didn’t quite meet our expectations. The room was a bit small, and the bathroom door didn’t close properly, which was a minor inconvenience. Unfortunately, there was no toilet paper provided, and the water pressure on the bum gun was way too high, which made it uncomfortable to use.
The breakfast area was quite crowded when we were there, and we couldn’t find a place to sit. It would’ve been helpful if the staff had stepped in to assist. The hotel itself could also use more attention to cleanliness, particularly in the hallways. We could hear conversations from the hallway in our room, which impacted the sense of privacy. For a hotel that’s considered the largest and most luxurious in town, we expected a bit more.
That said, the gym and pool were nice features, which we did enjoy. However, we didn’t try the spa or massage services, so we can’t comment on those.
Overall, with some improvements in service and room quality, this hotel has the potential to offer a better experience. Hopefully, management will take this feedback on board and make the...
Read moreSubpar service, old, rundown and dirty. When we arrived and were shown to our room, there were lizard droppings all over the floor showing that they had not cleaned the room prior to our arrival.
The wooden toilet door had cracks in it could barely latch and could not be locked.
Needed an extra towel sent to our room and requested it then waited an hour for the towel. We then went to the reception to ask for the towel and were told we had to collect it from the reception where the towel had not been sent so we had to wait a little longer for the towel.
Do NOT pay for the massage. It was 7USD for a 1 hour foot massage which is by no means expensive but if they set that price, you'd expect something in return. The ladies were distracted, talking amongst themselves, tried turning on the TV for themselves and kept conspicuously stealing glances at the clock. In the end they ended ~10 minutes early after some pressing and rubbing which I would hesitate to call a massage.
What frustrated me the most was that , despite paying for 3 in a room, I was denied breakfast due to there being only 2 people written in...
Read moreHmm... let me preface this review by saying that we only had to spend $25-$30 per night staying here and this hotel is situated is Pursat which is a much more rural part of the country, so the expectations have to be lowered a bit in that regard.
Pros:
Cost They have a pool area
Cons:
Food is pretty close to inedible Our room was like a concrete prison cell (no windows, minimal light) Many different types of bugs in our room, including cockroach Beds collapsed inwards, making for an uncomfortable sleep Pillows were not comfortable Washroom was pretty filthy looking Toilet worked erratically Ceilings had huge water damage spots No English speaking staff
There you have it. We much preferred spending our time outside of the hotel than within. I wouldn't...
