Splendid hospitality! Excellent bungalow with quickly impactful A/C. Beds that work great for a side sleeper. I stayed here in early May and am so happy with our stay. I will stay here again when I return. I liked the ambiance, standalone bungalow and most of all - the hospitality. Warm, welcoming and safe.
We arrived mid morning to a plate of fruit, iced tea and a cold towel - refreshing given the hot temperature. Our room wasn't ready - but they offered to switch our room out, even saying they'd move a second bed in. We declined and sat by the pool until ours was ready where they brought us towels and set up a fan to help keep us cool.
The rooms are spacious and standalone - and true to their marketing, built in the traditional Khmer home design (though as a tourist, I don't really know that - however, this place is not a traditional hotel design at all - no elevators, built on stilts so steps - I don't know if they have a room with a ramp, wheelchair users - I advise you to contact the property before booking). I loved it. We stayed in #12 - it had one queen and one double and was perfect for my stay with a taller friend (she got the queen). If traffic noise is a concern for you, I would not recommend #12 as it was the one closest to the intersection of where the property abuts an intersection. However, I felt the noise was constant enough it became like white noise - with the exception of a large truck every once in a while. One evening, our host apologized for the music that was playing later into the evening - a wedding celebration was across the street. I appreciated the proactiveness of the host to keep us informed.
Daily - we were asked what style breakfast we'd like. Ours room included breakfast and the Cambodian and Chinese style were hearty and tasty. My friend had the Healthy Breakfast.
The bathroom amenities included a small bar soap (bring your own or buy a bar from the Bodia Spa if you want more robust lather), Shampoo and Shower Gel. Hand towel and bath towel, but no wash cloth. Robes and croc like shoes were on offer.
Kettle in room, along with tea bags and instant coffee. A mini fridge with for pay soda and beer and complimentary water bottles - which we received a water bottle every morning at breakfast.
They offer in room massage options that are very inexpensive. I highly recommend this - my friend and I did 2x and it was excellent. We were told they needed a minimum of 30 minutes notice and that was how it worked for us.
Complimentary airport pickup was awesome and easy to arrange return, which was $35 USD (btw - the new airport opened in Oct of 2023 and is about an hour car ride). Complimentary evening tuk tuk into Pub Street and the surrounding areas from 5-10PM worked great. Only $2 USD to return. Every tuk tuk driver knew where the location was, but we did have the business card to share.
Wifi was fine, though it did cut out from...
Read moreIt’s a little out of the city, but this make the hotel more quiet and peaceful. If you want to be away from noisy central area, it’s a good alternative - they also provide free tuktuk to central area, only one way.The service is amazing! Everyone is smiling all the time and they try their best to make you feel comfortable.Breakfast with additional $5 worth the money. I also read on the reviews that people get free coconut, but that wasn’t a case for me, maybe they don’t do it any more. There are two pools surrounded by the bungalows and both very nice.I only had two issues:The small towels were dirty (or maybe old?). I didn’t need them, if I told them to change I’m sure they would do that. T to blame the hotel but just a note. And there were many lizards not inside the room, but outside on the walls and on the dining table. I couldn’t continue my breakfast outside due to this issue. But maybe this is ok for many people as the hotel is located in the middle of the nature with a great garden. My final note is about the details: l was on a work trip alone in Siem Reap and wanted to treat myself a nice hotel for my birthday and choose here. Although they’re not obliged to do that, small gestures would have been nice - such as staff telling happy birthday, or a small cake or room upgrade for free etc as many hotels do. Again this is not something I was expecting, but just a suggestion to the hotel staff to make peoples stay even...
Read morePerfect place: individual spacious bungalows, with a terrace where a copious breakfast is served (we had quickly to reduce to only 2 breakfasts for 3 persons because it was too much for us), that you can choose among various types (continental, Chinese, Khmer, healthy...). The 2 swimming pools are large and cleaned each day, as the garden, even if it's never perfect because lot of leafs are continuously falling from trees, which is normal. People are really helpful, helping you to organise and plan your days (booking with tuk tuk, etc) without charging anything and even giving you the "good" price in advance (avoiding painful negociations), or offering fresh drinks each time we return from excursions. They even took the initiative to offer a real birthday cake to our daughter which passed 6 years few days before our stay. For going to city, the free tuk tuk on the evening is really practical (making distance with center town not a problem). The hotel oriented us also to a tuk tuk driver (Sohkein) who drived us everywhere we wanted, even helping us to orientate in some places to visit, or proposing us to taste some things on the side of the road, even if he is not speaking very well English. A special mention to the hammock in the tuk tuk that our daughter LOVED. I would recommend...
