Daunkeo Guesthouse — Hotel in Takeo

We caught the train from Kampot to Takeo, and being uncertain about whether there would be tuk tuks at Takeo station, we emailed Sinuon at Daunkeo Guesthouse to organise pick up from the station. Sinuon organised a tuk tuk to collect us, which turned up as the train pulled in. He also organised a boatman to take us to Phnom Da, and a driver for the trip to Phnom Penh. These all worked out perfectly and enabled us to make the most of our overnight trip to Takeo.||Our room was clean and comfortable, with soap and toothbrushes provided, as well as free waters. It had a fridge, good airconditioning and reliable wifi. The guesthouse is well located, close to the boats and restaurants. The guesthouse has communal sitting areas and balconies which looked comfortable. Takeo was a stop, and none or poor hotel available. This guest house is far to be the best just say the best amongst the worst. Do not book breakfast there unless you are used to pizza or pork or other weird dishes for a breakfast. We had a so-called VIP room, well I still wonder what is a VIP room for this country when you have 2 night lights next to the bed and no electrical sockets. All in all a plain experience as we barely see the crew around. 2 days is far enough for a stay there. Did not even dare to try their food especially having a great place next...

I love this guesthouse. The rooms are very nice, clean and some have a great view. The price with 6 dollar cannot be topped plus the food is excellent and cheap too. They have the best omlette in cambodia :) the staff is very friendly and speaks good english! They have an indoor restaurant, which is nice if you dont want to be eaten by the mosquitos in the night, but you can also sit outside.
