My wife and I love discovering hidden gems, and this resort in Kampot was an absolute standout—surpassing all our expectations.
We took the train from Phnom Penh and had a taxi pre-arranged to pick us up from the Kampot station. The drive, about 15 minutes from the town center, felt like an adventure in itself. The road was a bit rough, but once we arrived, it was as if we had entered an oasis in the midst of lush rice paddies.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, and our room featured a private balcony with direct views of the rice fields, which made our stay even more special. The bed was firm but very comfortable, ensuring we had restful nights. Breakfast was a great mix of local and international choices, and one evening we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant, where the breezy atmosphere, tasty food, and excellent wine made for a perfect night.
The fact that there were very few other guests only added to the peaceful and romantic vibe of our stay.
If I had to mention one small thing, the bathroom was a bit narrow, but that didn’t impact our overall experience at all. This resort was truly a highlight...
Read moreI have been to Kampot a few times in the past, and this is easily the best hotel available at the sub $100 price point.
There is a character to this place. Each block of rooms adopt a different architecture - Middle Eastern, Chinese, etc. Service is excellent, unlike the many other hotels around Kampot. Staff are actually friendly and very prompt.
Location is a bit out of the city, but I rate it 5 stars as Komsan is very self contained. There is a restaurant, water park, different types of bicycles, lawn bowl, sandy playground, giant chess board, jacuzzi and many more. All of the facilities are available for free to guests. I can see this place to be a good option for family, couples and corporates alike.
This is probably the first hotel in Kampot that I don't feel being ripped off. Most $80-100 per room per night hotels are a rip off in Kampot when compared to options outside of Kampot.
Only thing that may bother guests is that the place is still under construction, but it is not that intrusive...
Read moreI visited Komsan resort for my birthday with my family and friends. It was a lovely experience. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. I was able to get extra beds placed inside my room because I was with a big group. The property is huge but there were bicycles (not just regular bicycles but really good bicycles like Giant and Maxxis) for us to ride around. We didn’t get to go for a swim but there were 2 pools and a lot of sport activities available for adults and children. We were offered to ride jet ski and kayak along the river also. Breakfast was great, buffet style, both Western and Asian. I would come back again. Very family and big group friendly. Great service also. It’s a new resort, not too far from the city center, I would highly recommend this place. Although the road getting there was a bit tricky but difficult roads lead to beautiful destination. Thanks for hosting my birthday...
