I stay here for a week in February 2014 and was happy with the accommodations.||Since this is Cameroon, there are some things that will go wrong and you have to just shrug and go with the flow, but overall the staff make a lot of effort and it shows.||I didn't have any problems getting a good nights sleep.||||One of the best things about it is that although the electrical grid in Kribi is spotty at best, but the hotel has it's own generators that are powerful enough to continue running the air conditioners in the rooms. But the internet service is probably based on the local grid so it can be down for hours or even a day at a time.||||I'm careful about food safety and food handling so for meals I generally stick to food fresh off a grill or out of the fryer. For dinner I absolutely recommend the Poisson Grille with Sauce Framotel and friend plantains (delicious!)||||There is a tip I'd like to offer...If you leave clothes on the ground, or generally not in your suitcase they will be picked up and washed for you! However, it takes 2 - 3 days to get them back again so be aware of your departure date. Also, they will come back neatly pressed and in a plastic cover. This was such wonderful service! (If only my clothes had been dry when they were wrapped in the plastic) Fortunately, I opened the laundry to check before putting them in my suitcase. Bring cash to pay the laundry bill right before you leave, it won't be charged...
Read moreMy stay at Framotel was enjoyable. They have 3 classes of rooms (from 'very luxurious' to 'standard') however the differences between the classes of rooms is negligeable (a larger tv and a sofa) which leaves me feeling the standard room I took was too expensive at 33000 Francs. ||The room was good though, clean and large. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom more than adequate. Particularly good was the very good TV reception and water pressure in the shower. The only minor quabble was the old airco unit which was noisy and for which I was not given a remote (staff explaining this as 'customers constantly remove the remotes so we no longer provide them'). Not having breakfast included with such rates is also somewhat of a steal. ||The rooms have internet and the hotel has just acquired a powerful generator. The location is convenient but not on the beach, and not near any particularly nice beaches. The place comes recommended though, if only they could produce some small improvements (see the above) it would be the go-to place in Kribi. As yet they offer superior value to Hotel le Paradis and Ilomba which is their...
Read moreI will term this property as “A hidden treasure” in Kribi and I regret not to have discovered during my earlier visits. All staff members are very co-operative, helpful, polite and there to assist you as and when required. You get your things done within minutes. Go for the deluxe rooms where you have a choice of “Joined Rooms” if travelling in a group / accompanied by children. The hotel has many amenities at affordable rates and there is a large parking space within the hotel complex. I will definitely stay at Framotel during my next Kribi visit. You can visit the hotel website at www.camerounevasion.com ||The hotel does not accept US Dollars with exception of Euro and don’t forget to exchange your currency at Douala/Yaoundé since exchange rates in Kribi are extremely low and sometimes...
