Absolutely horrific experience while staying here for an international conference. Upon arrival, I waited over 2 hours for allocation of a room. I was told that the rooms were fully booked and that they would place me in another hotel. Eventually they gave me a room and the quality of the room was shocking. The lighting in the bathroom was extremely poor. But even with the poor lighting, the terrible hygiene and lack of maintenance could be seen. The bathtub was not clean. The room was extremely dilapidated. The very next morning, I requested a new room from reception who advised that a new room was being prepared for me and would be available by midday. At midday, I went to reception and they said the room is ready and allocated but being cleaned and I must return when the conference is over. After the conference, a new staff member was at reception and had no idea about the transfers. He indicated that no new room was available. Eventually, he then assigned me another room. The new room was an improvement however the hygiene of the bathroom was an issue. The shower design makes no sense and the water goes everywhere. There is a permanent smell of urine. There are also cockroaches. When opening the bedding to go to bed, it was seen that the bedding had not been changed and this bedding had hair from other guests. I went to reception again and requested that something be done. They offered that they could change the bedding or they could move me back to the old room. The person at the front desk then requested a member of security to come and change my bedding. The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that the lovely gentleman Claude from security came to change my bedding and was so polite and did his best to assist me despite bedding/house keeping not being his job. He is the only staff member I can applaud at this hotel. The hotel is in a shocking state and should be a 1 star, if that. DO NOT BOOK HERE. I am still trying to find alternative...
Read moreI had a lovely visit to this vibrant city last week. I was there for an Expo and my needs was really only for a clean bed and a good breakfast. I believe that Hotel Franco is suffering from being Africa. The hotel is in need of serious attention. Downstairs the aircon is dripping water and buckets are being placed there only at times. The rest is just a problem to be left for the next person.||my room was okay. The aircon did not really blow any air, but it was fine. The bathroom had a nice bath, but herewith some obvious problems.||1. The bathroom door was fitted into the frame, but never plastered of finished.||2. The toilet had a ring-seat, but it was way smaller than the actual toilet. someone must have signed off on this. ||3. There was no dust-bin in the room and after many request I finally received one on day 3. ||4. The shower fitting is upside down which mean that the shower cannot stay up in order for someone to shower under it.||||All of these things are minor in the context, but they could have been done correctly and my review could have been much more positive.||||The staff are all trying, but it is clear that the enthusiasm is simply not there. Nobody seems to have been through the training needed to operate in...
Read moreOk hotel, with good cleaning service and breakfast buffet. But the Dinner its no good, you can only get one dish pr evening ( Meat, fish, chicken) and it takes one hour to get your meal. Most of the staff dont speak english. and even if you are speaking french, the waiter wont listen to your order and suddenly say we ordered something else (even though we didnt)||Also the staff dosent listen to you even if you are speaking french .The pool is always overcrowded because the hotel lets other people (that are not resident at the hotel) in to the pool. on the second last day me and my sister was harrased by some guy at the pool, who did'nt even lived at the hotel. Last Night the hotel had a party and people were screaming and knocking at the hallway at 4 am- again that were no residents of the hotel. No respect for...
