Hotel Santa Lucia — Hotel in Yaoundé

I stayed a couple of days at the santa lucia complex, here my opinion:||||The complex is situated in a very noisy part of Yaoundé, near the central prison of Yaoundé. On the groundfloor you have a supermarket and a backery 24h/24h-7/7. In front of the hotel you see a petrol pump and 50 meters to your left you have a local disco which is extremely loud fri-sater-sunday.||Windows are thin so the noise from the street, disco is noticeable in the room.||||There is no elevator in the hotel, so everything via stairs!||The rooms are simple, bed and mattress are ok.||||The badroom is very poor and old, no toilet seat, a bit dirty, insects( cockroaches)||||General cleanliness is poor.|| The restaurant is simple and i only had a coffee (...

We used the internet to find this accomodation. Our reception on arrival was unfriendly. The room was adequate, the shower(warm water!) the TV (all in French) and the air conditioner all worked fine but the bar/nightclub/restaurant was noisy into the wee hours. The hotel claims to have bilingual staff, they were not. The restaurant is above a bakery/ store and in the morning the access from the hotel was locked. Not a big deal if stairs are not a problem.
