I am still so disappointed in how our booking went. We went here for the first time in 2023 in a tent site. Loved it and loved these Waterfront sites even more! So we booked early this year to secure a Waterfront tent site for the summer. Great. They did change their booking system that even the staff had issues when I called but this very lovely lady tried hard to book it and called me back once it was all sorted. But just a week before our trip, I clicked on the link in the email and it said that we were booked in a boondocking site (with many other tent sites) with no car access. Not at all what we were looking for. When I called about it, the lady said they would try to get that party in our original site to move. Then we were offered a free bundle of wood (during a fire ban). Then they called back saying that we must not have paid an additional fee to "lock in" the booking which was not even an option when we booked. In the end, we cancelled and found Clearsprings Campground in Caroline (peaceful property run by a lovely couple)! I was just so fed up that Camp Rocky Mountain House would not own up to their mistake. Then when we came back from our trip, I found this print out I had printed out (thankfully!) which states the initial booking was for exactly the Waterfront tent site *locked*! It was an error on their end where we ended up getting moved to a site with no privacy or car access and not along the river. Downfall of having only a link to lead you to your booking! Print it out in case unwanted changes are made. Just so disappointed they couldn't admit that they messed up. I really wanted to camp there again but had a poor experience.

The park is located just off of highway 11 (The David Thompson Highway) about 6 Km west of Rocky Mountain House. The access road is gravel only the short distance from the highway to the park entrance. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and very friendly. The rules are fairly basic. The interior roads are gravel and in good condition. Our site, 140, was a back in grassed lot that was easily long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30 amp, and water only) were to the left side. The size of our site was phenomenal even for a rural park. Most sites have a vegetation privacy barrier. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was well manicured and pleasant to look at. The park included wifi worked well on occasion but mostly it was very slow. We were warned at check in that their provider was having difficulties. Even our checking in had to be restarted twice as the info was being lost during input. Our 5G hotspot had three bars so we had no internet issues. There is NO cable TV nor were we able to find any OTA channels. Satellite should not be difficult. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean and modern. There are many activities available to campers such as basket ball, volley ball, play grounds and pedal car rentals etc. There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be a good overnighter. We paid 55.00 per night (plus tax and reservation fee) and we feel we received fair value. We will be back if in the area again.

Our RV Life GPS and backups guided us directly to Black Sheep Rocky Mountain House and then to the campground entrance, where we followed clear directional signs and parked at the main office to check in. Afterward, we drove about 500 meters down to the entrance of the additional campground area. The road in was a somewhat narrow road with occasional light tree and brush contact—nothing that caused damage—to reach our pull-through site 134 with water and electric (50/30/20 AMP). The grassy site was exceptionally long and spacious, easily accommodating our 40’ fifth wheel and F-450, with utilities conveniently located mid-site and water pressure holding steady at around 45 psi. The sites are well spaced, with young trees and shrubs between them offering a bit of privacy, and we had no trouble positioning our Starlink for a clear sky view—achieving excellent speeds of 234 Mbps down and 8.36 Mbps up. We had limited cell service with 1 bar on Verizon and 2 bars on T-Mobile. Although the campground provides Wi-Fi, we couldn’t find the network name to connect. There’s a designated dog area, but it’s unfenced and located right next to the main access road, so we opted against off-leash use. Light traffic noise from nearby Highway 11 was present but not disruptive. The older section near the office appears to have full-time residents, while the newer areas are occupied by seasonals. Overall, we found this campground comfortable and would recommend it for both short and extended stays.
