The sites are good and pretty well distanced. You'll want to get one that doesn't have a snowmobile trail right behind it, because people like to take them as shortcuts to the bathroom and it can be loud if the people are loud. The area around the campground was very nice. We requested some wood for purchase (which you need to sign up for at the manager's office) and can echo other reviewers' sentiments that they didn't seem the friendliest when delivering them to us. There weren't many mosquitoes, but a LOT of small black flies that hover around you at all times.

We had a great weekend camping at the Walk-In sites in loop B. Couple good things to know - the sites are about 100m from the parking area - no cell reception - there’s a small store at the road turnoff with essentials (no wifi or cell reception) - washrooms close by! - great green space next to the walk in sites for games Very kind campground managers!! :D

No cell service here. You have to drive about 35 minutes east towards Longview to get reception. Dirt road is only 6 kms from the turn off from the tar road and gravel road is in good condition. Its about 40 kms from the turn off from Long view. Bathrooms are dirty, the floor has not been swept in months. Most sites are very private with a lot of shade.

This camp site is very unique, being on a creek and secluded it's very nice. Defiantly a place to go to get away from it all! NO CELLPHONE reception and almost totally off grid! It's only a shame there are not more sites to choose from when you just drop in and register.

The staff was helpful with firewood ($10 a bundle) and made sure the info on registration was correct (scrutiny). I guess they have issues with people self registering...

It's a little over the top since there are only 6 sites you can book by drop in. The drop in area is nice but has a lot of dead trees from spring flooding or tree killing bugs... there is less privacy in the booked areas because all the trees are bare on the bottoms of the trees and sites are exposed. Maybe not the best camp ground to go if your looking for a private weekend getaway.

Other campers were quiet and respectful when we were there. It's nice to find a spot that is not overly noisy and a bunch of party goers. It was also nice that they didn't bother you about pit times and putting your fire out at a crazy time.

If your going here prep for it, nothing close by. Not even a match!

Park attendants on site were nice, I can see how some may think they were a little forward, some people need that reminder to respect other campers...

Oh and remember it's BEAR...

We were there last weekend. The park itself is nice and well maintained. The shallow creek is especially pretty and was always empty. The equestrian area is particularly lovely, the meadow there looks like something out of Midsommar. There are some issues though that I would have found useful before I booked the site. There isn't any drinking water in the park, only non-potable. Thankfully, Highwood House is right at the turnoff from Hwy 40 and they have good quality wood ($10) and a water spigot (free). Bring containers. The park itself is 6km away on a gravel road, that's a long, brutal drive for your undercarriage. We anticipated a bug problem with mosquitoes but didn't see any. The flies however, were unbelievable and relentless. Keeping a fire going for the smoke helps. There's also a type a bird there with a call like an emergency alert system. Valley Bottom trail is impassible, a crazy steep, boggy mess. There is no store onsite, or any place to check-in, just a park manager who's rarely home (they also sell $10 bundles). Just leave your permit on the post, and on your dash, and hunker down. I would come back to the park now that I know what to expect, but only if all my other preferred options weren't...

The rudest, most disrespectful people I have ever met. We asked them a question about our campsite and the lady in charge kept yelling at us like we were stupid. A couple hours later the other man in charge started yelling at us for having a fire while there was a fire ban…. But we didn’t even have a fire going. And they told us prior that we were allowed to have a fire if we used a propane tank which we had. The man kept going on and on yelling at us about our headlights and that we needed them, when he told us before that we couldn’t have lights because they were “distracting”.

Mind you we are people of colour, and the lady in charge came back to our campsite to remind us not to be so loud and to consider our neighbours, saying “I know how loud you people can get”. We were treated differently from the other people on the campground that weren’t people of colour. And it’s not hard to understand why.

Overall, I would never come back to this campsite, and would not recommend this...
