Gone Fishinn is a beautiful privately owned property with only a handful of lots which makes it nice and quiet. However it’s not as advertised on the website. The dreamy beach photo is not an accurate representation of what is there. With lots of rain and high waters in 2019 the beach washed away and was never replenished with sand. With 2020’s lake levels this just became worse. There is no beach . And the piles of weeds and dirt that is cleaned away from the waters edge lies in piles around the shore. The play structure that had my children excited at our initial viewing, was blown over in the wind before we even got our camper onsite and now a year and a half later, still lies rotting into the ground. The cabins that are available for rent appear to be immaculate on the inside but their outside remains unfinished with scaffolding sitting beside them (for the last two years) and siding unfinished/damaged. While the website seems to promote a family oriented and happy gathering space, the novel sized contract/rule book seems to prevent it. Example, we had family in from Quebec and we were only going to get one night with them, the owner would not allow them to camp with us in OUR camper because it went over the 6 person maximum by 2 (which were kids). Also, the rules that are in place seem to be different for different campers. Example. One dog rule. Another camper has two. Activities are frowned upon and seem to be discouraged. While COVID could have been a factor in some of it, it certainly wasn’t in all of it. The fees for the four month long availability (May 15 - September 30 and not a day longer) are a high premium and I would expect there to be more done to keep the property maintained. The grass is beautiful and mowed every day (literally) but that seems to be where it ends. The dock is a hazard (friend fell through twice, photo attached) and not properly supported. It looks like it’s home made and is a safety concern. But the owner doesn’t hold any responsibility for it as stated in his novel sized contract/rule book. “The Resort shall not be responsible for damage to property or for personal injury or death suffered by the Seasonal or its Visitors, Guests and Resort User's whether at the site or elsewhere at the Resort, or in the vicinity of the Resort and the Seasonal hereby accepts all risk and liability of Resort Facility and Resort Use. “ This small quiet location has large lots and is only minutes from all amenities, but it lacks commitment and follow through from the owner. Unless it’s to ensure you follow the ridiculous contract. The photos you see on the website, are not an accurate representation of what is there. Also, on Google it says there is free wifi and a golf course. There is neither. After a season and a half there, our family is paying another rental fee somewhere else, just to leave. I think the potential of this beautiful property is somewhat lost due to the lack of effort.

Fantastic spot!! It's a true hidden Gem. Very quiet and well maintained. So glad we accidentally found this place on Google. Liked it so much...we leased an entire season here. Update: Season 5...Still loving it!

We rented a cabin. Was clean and well equipped. Peaceful and quiet. My family enjoyed quality time. Less use of digital gadgets and more of laughters, story telling by the firepit and appreciation of nature.

Wow! All I can say is WOW! I just got off the phone with the owner. I was making reservations for a cabin in this beautiful resort. I had booked it for 5 persons. As I was booking it, the owner called and told me that he could not entertain my reservation as they had a maximum of 4 guests per cabin. I asked why and he stated that there was not enough room for 5 persons and as I said that max was 4. I agreed to the explanation and asked if was ok to reserve for 3 persons, as I would have my parents stay behind. He then..... get this... intimated that he could not trust me that the other 2 my 79 and 84 yr parents would not be joining us on the sly.... really? I also mentioned that my cousin has MS and is disabled and walks with a walker. He THEN mentioned that “well you know there is a spiral staircase”. Duh! That’s why she would be staying on the ground floor and I would be sleeping in the loft! He refused my reservation in the end. Most of the 5 stars here are due to the looks like the great accommodations, (which incidentally look amazing), it’s just too bad that we will never know. His attitude sucks, and if I could give this review a big fat ZERO I would. I’m sure once you get past the ugly reservation process and dealing with horrible person everything else in beautiful! And this is coming from a girl very involved with the travel industry... Good luck peeps..... am happy to report that I noticed I just knocked his review score down to a 3.8🤣 may I also mention when he called me I was leaving a $1450 payment for 3 freaking days..... so not so cool.. I work all over the world and decided to have my absolute love for Alberta, and this...

We never even bothered to come and check it out after the gentleman who called me back after I put an inquiry in about the place was not very friendly on the phone. If your selling a service you think you would handle yourself a bit better on the phone and explain things better. We get that it’s a private resort but maybe rather than saying no you can’t come out and view it just say well how about we set up a time at such and such a time on this date or something rather than NO its by appointment only and we don’t have spots to just come and see it for a weekend. The way you word yourself is very rude. I even explained we are new at the whole Rv thing. But have a nice day and maybe you can learn from some feedback. Well there is no way to comment on the owners comment so I will just edit this one. Took them 3 months to comment back and I do fully research and many of the questions I asked over the phone were not explained on your website hence my phone call to you. If your to busy to answer the calls then hire someone too or redo website to answer the questions it...
