Nice place for the price. It's a little primitive, but fine if you have a trailer. I was annoyed at the lack of info, so I went with the intention of correcting some of it.

First...the road: It's totally FINE, and do not believe any reviews that say otherwise. Period. The facts...- its 32 km long. Speed limit is 60 km until the park..then 30KM to campground. It has a few good hills both up and down. The largest was a 7% grade. We had a 35 ft trailer loaded towed by f150 and were good. 4x4 is recommended if you're loaded due to SOME loose gravel. A few spots with a LITTLE wash board..4 seconds worth. Very few pot holes. 2 Notes: 1-make sure you bring cleaning supply...the road is dusty as hell, and you WILL be cleaning the inside of your trailer!! 2- There is one SMALL washout just before the bridge ( like a reverse speed bump) when you turn the corner and see the concrete bridge...hit the brakes!!

Second ..the sites at Green Mountain Campground: No services! Has pumps for water, but it's not drinkable. Has pit toilets. In the bush...no real views. Has playground. Far enough apart for privacy. Fairly wide sites, majority are quite large/long. Our truck and trailer together is 58 feet.. and we still had room. NOTE: When looking at the online campground map for gm know that all the sites on the outside of the curve are on a hill, so you will be backing up an incline.

Upper and lower Moose site are small and open and VERY close together. No privacy... but partial view of the lake.

Hikers haven camp site is almost like a group site. Very small, zero privacy..inches between trailers. Equestrian sites are very open with corals and hitch posts. Walk-in tenting is available.

Has fantastic trails starting at the river bridge that lead to the lake. A number of areas to launch kayaks, float tubes etc. You can fly fish in the river but fish are 6-8 in. Mostly bull trout. Lake views are amazing. Very dog friendly.

Lastly..watch out for deer on the road...and bring a good axe they don't split most...

Unbelievable! What a beautiful well kept park. Loads of camp sites along the lake or in the campground area really wish I planned to stay a few nights. Was super quiet when we were there for the day. Great hiking trails, mountain biking, fishing, or being out on the lake could keep you busy or just enjoying the beautiful views. We were fortunate to see quite a few critters during the hike along the lake also. Loads of infrastructure that was surprisingly clean and well kept compared to other provincial parks. As noted the road is gravel but it's pretty well kept, wasn't an issue with a truck but a smaller car or towing a trailer could require slowing down along the way for washboard and potholes, but no biggie.

Totally worth a trip out to explore or plan a camping trip around if you are looking for some peace and quiet at this little...

Beautiful campground, perfect for getting away from everything. been coming here for a few years.

Now the road. I will provide my opinion as well. The road is not bad, it is not great either.

I know some reviews say it is fine, however, I recently drove it during/after heavy rain. When the road is dry, it is rough and dusty. It is drivable, however be prepared for washboard, potholes and dust on everything. But after rain, be prepared for it to be worse. There are soft spots, huge puddles, and it is slick. I was glad I had good tires and 4x4. Also, be prepared for a filthy truck and trailer.

It is worth the drive, but just know if it rains while you are in there,...

Strictly from a convenience point of view, the drive 30km from hwy 40 on a fairly rough gravel road is a bit much. They have sites that must be reserved prior to arrival or by phone or email. Trying to get one of these sites is impossible as there is no cellular coverage (stops about 10 km from the hwy). And, if you've never been to the park it's hard to know which sites to select. Campgrounds are very nice, well maintained, with plenty of toilets and free firewood. However, there is no potable water available (that I could see). The lake is beautiful. Cold and clear water. Great for canoe or kayak.
