Large, treed in campsites with 30 or 50 amp power, showers and laundry, playground and inflatable waterslide, wifi, and farmyard mini golf. Great location close to Beaver River and close to town. Owners are friendly and accommodating.

I had the misfourtune of staying at Rocky meadows. I stayed there even after reading the reviews. That was a big mistake I figured that there is always two sides to every story and that no one could be as bad as the reviews. That was a big mistake the reviews are spot on. To say the owners are rude is a huge understatment. My first night returning to the campground as I was driving into site driving the posted 5km/hr(good thing because the road is so rough you couldn't go any faster if you wanted to) I saw the owner working so I waved at him. He totally blew me off but did manage to meet me at my campsite to tell me my truck was too loud. I explained to him that it was a diesel which I require to pull my fifth wheel however he was to thick headed to listen and walked off in a huff and told me I would be evicted if there was any complaints. The funny thing was that my truck wasn't too loud the day before when he took my money. I wrote the first encounter off to him having a bad day. My next run in with him was two weeks later. I came back from work at 6pm and turned on my stereo the volume was at 20 out of 100. The owner happened to be working in the area. He came to my fifth wheel and beat on the door when I opened it I was told I didn't need to be listening to music. As a worker who gets up at 4:30 each morning I am in full support of noise policies but at 6PM that is rediculous. The last time I checked I was a grown man who can decide if I need to listen to music or not. This takes me to the point when I checked out. I cleaned up my site and asked the owner to check to make sure I was leaving it in a acceptable conition. He agreed that it was and I was told that it was and my deposit would be returned to my card. A month went by and the money had not been refunded so I called and was told they lost my info. To which I responded that it would make sense that they contact me to get it. She said that she would look for it and call me back. I told her I was in the area and would drop by with the card to make it easy. That was followed by her swearing at me and hanging up. Also if you like living in a dumpster this would be a good place while I was there the other sites where full of debris and you are basically parked in a field. These people are definatly the rudest people I have ever had the misfourtune of meeting Please save...

Everything is fine when they take your money, after that it goes downhill quickly. where to start... ok first I was told the wifi would be up and running within the month and the water would be turned on begining of may. may 19th the water was turned on. the wifi never was turned on the 2 months I was there. My neighbor who was a very quiet nice guy was walking his dog without a leash. The owner told him to get his stuff and get out for not having a leash. He informed him he didn't have a normal leash and that his was an electronic leash (trains the dog to stay beside you) and showed it to the owner. He didn't care and kicked him out and didn't refund him. The road going in has HUGE pot holes and they don't maintain the property. Lastly I left the campground for a week, and booked my return. I told her (the owner) I would be there later around 6pm that night. My flight was delayed...explained to her I was in the airport with delays, travelling all day but would still make it by 10 pm. She told me find another place for the night that was to late and it would wake ppl up. I explained I had a gas truck and it isn't that loud, I would just park it and setup the next day. She continued to make a big deal of it because she didn't want to wait up to collect the money from me. I said forget it. parked in a parking lot and cancelled my stay and booked a spot in cold lake. She got miserable once I told her "don't worry about I will find...

Well here is what a stay at Rocky Meadows was like last summer.

I called way later than I should have... (2 days before I needed a spot). They were booked solid. Yet still were accommodating, found me a temporary spot and even allowed me to plug in!

On the phone Lori asked how noisy my truck was... which I thought was weird... until I heard they truck they kicked OUT of the campground. Are people really that dense to think that isn't irritating!? I have a diesel truck, stock, pulls my camper just fine. I can see why Vince and Lori get annoyed with some people, I know I wouldn't take some of the crap I heard them take while I stayed there.

The campground at night is silent... it is that out of the city quiet that you don't get at many campgrounds anymore. The sites are tree'd in quite nicely, their new sites are even more so. You don't have to watch your next door neighbours having breakfast! The site I stayed in was facing towards a great big pond, lots of crickets at night. Very relaxing!

Overall it was one of the best few months in a campground. I could sleep at night, wasn't woken up early in the morning, and chatted with Vince over coffee and pie at the cafe the one day.

Great owners. Great service. Quiet. Strict rules (for very good reasons!) Tree'd in. Away from the main road. Can't be as bad as some of these reviews, they were full the whole time...
