One of the nicest hidden treasures just outside of the Banff boundary. 10 minutes to the crossroads if you need to get something ($$$). No cell service, drive 30 min to make a phone call, but it's nice being off the grid while you camp. Sites are basic but nice, get a decent allowance of firewood. Long drop toilets are surprisingly clean and well kept (my daughter will freak out with grungy/spiders and she was happy to use these) No power, no potable water (pump well water on site). Rustic and beautiful, somewhat lacking in sunlight, as you are in the trees. Bring lots of bug spray or the mosquitoes will pick you up and carry you away. Kids love playing in the creek, building dams, moving rocks around. Lots of trees and bush for them to play in. Nice trail with a view off...
Read moreThis is a wonderful campground for those seeking a disconnect from the busy, and a connection to nature. This campground offers privacy with a reasonable amount of trees and space between neighbouring sites. Additional pros to this campsite include reasonable rates at $28 a night (bring cash), a body of water running through the campsite with easy access and good for small children when it’s not running high. Biking around the camp gravel was enjoyable. There is a high amount of bears, with 5 seen within only a few kms and we came across one on our biking trip. The employees are very knowledgeable on the bears, and signs regarding bear safety are posted throughout. There is no cell phone service, and no services, but this is a beautiful campground to enjoy nature...

The campground has limited services and many first-come, first-served sites (we booked in advance since we were traveling with our newborn). It’s set among tall trees and right next to the creek, which makes it very scenic and peaceful. When we visited in August, there were quite a lot of mosquitoes in the evenings, which could be a bit annoying outdoors. The staff was kind and helpful, and the sites were spacious and...
