Slimy man made swimming hole? Yes. Sublime? ABSOLUTELY. I've seen that review, and all I can say is "really? Really?? Come on! I'd swim there with my eyes open any day of the week before swimming in the Ottawa River! ๐Ÿ˜‚

If you're looking for the kind of family getaway where your kids will stay away from electronics, your cheeks hurt from laughing, and youโ€™ve got a hundred new flower pics on your phoneโ€”this is the place.

Yes, the man made pool had a bit of that โ€œslimy charmโ€โ€”natureโ€™s version of a slip nโ€™ slideโ€”but that only made the adventure more fun. Who needs five-star hotels when youโ€™ve got a slimy soft floor that makes every footstep a surprise? ๐Ÿ˜‚

The greenery is jaw-dropping, like stepping into a Bob Ross painting. The flowers are so beautiful they made my phone gallery look like a botany thesis.

Restaurant food? DELISH!! Site and washrooms/showers? MR CLEAN KINDA CLEAN PETTING ZOO? yessss and the cutest little goat named Tariffa! ADORABLE

Now letโ€™s talk poolsโ€”there are 3 excluding the man made one (1 for rug rats and another rug rat free!) Another with a slide and each one more splash-worthy than the last. Whether you want to cannonball like a maniac or float like an elegant piece of poolside driftwood, thereโ€™s a perfect pool for you.

It was a scorcher this weekendโ€”so hot, even Bingo couldnโ€™t handle it. Mid-number call, one camper fainted (drama queen style lol, ) EMS (campground patron) flew into action along with his fan, nurse (another patron!) jumped up mid-B-12 (not really cuz staff stopped bingo immediately) whisked her away on the 2025 royal chariot (aka a golf cart). Feeling much better, the fainting queen gave her royal wave, campers happily clapped her royal exit and N-45 was called next when I clearly could have used a G-53 for the win!!! Anyway, pretty evident these campground patrons do honestly give that "we're all family here" kind of warm and fuzzy caring feeling!! ๐Ÿฅฐ

And the staff? Absolute legends. They're like camp counselors crossed with fairy godmothersโ€”always smiling, always helpful, and clearly in love with their jobs (and their guests). Our hosts (wish I'd had more time with ya Josie๐Ÿ˜˜) are the kind of people you wish lived next doorโ€”warm, welcoming and all around "give the shirt off their backs" kind of people.

We came for a girl get together with the fam and besties, we stayed for the laughs and we left with hearts full. If you're looking for a family-friendly campsite that embraces the outdoors, slime and all, book it now. You won't regret.

Thks Cedar Shade Campground and see ya next year and every year...

My family and I have had the pleasure of camping at Cedar Shade Campground for over five years, and I can't say enough about what an amazing place it is. From the moment you arrive, it's clear that this is more than just a campgroundโ€”it's a welcoming, vibrant community.

Cedar Shade boasts an impressive array of pools, a large lake (quarry), a massive bouncy pillow, and multiple kids' play structures. Whether you're looking to swim at the quarry or splash around with the kids at the pool, there's always a perfect spot to cool off and have fun. The activities are endless and cater to both kids and adults, offering something for everyone. From organized games and crafts for the little ones to social events and recreational activities for adults, there's never a dull moment.

What truly sets Cedar Shade apart is that it's a family-run campground. The owners (Josie and Sylvain) genuinely care about their guests, and it shows in every aspect of the experience. The staff, including Linda, Marthe, Zach, Josh, and countless others, consistently go the extra mile to ensure everyone has a memorable stay. Their dedication and warmth make you feel like part of the family, creating a sense of belonging and comfort that kept us coming back year after year.

Cedar Shade Campground is more than just a destination for usโ€”it became a cherished tradition and a place where we built countless happy memories. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a camping experience that combines fun, relaxation, and genuine...

During our week-long RV trip here, we had an amazing time. The memories created with our kids and fellow vacationers were truly unforgettable. The small lake was a highlight, offering plenty of activities and a serene atmosphere. The pricing was fantastic, as well as the food/grocery. The only negative - we did notice that the farm animals could use some better attention. It was concerning to see chickens with sores and goats with unkempt hooves, especially as livestock farmers ourselves. Additionally, it was troubling to observe other vacationers feeding the animals bread and processed foods.

I just wish price for cart was a bit more affordable as tight spaces throughout and wouldn't be easy to go by car to reception and such to find parking but otherwise really impressed with things to do and the little lake with also pools and all ... poutine really not bad there also and prices and quantity are really nice. Don't let the field seen from the road discourage you, once there it is a really complete and surprising camping and ton of fun for the family and not far from Rockland or other towns around. Definitely recommend that camground
