I'd definitely go back, but here is my humble review: This campground has great amenities including, coin laundry, coin showers, water stations, outhouse & wash area, wifi charging area, park for the kids. The beach is nice once you make it down the steep, wooden staircase down the side of the bluff. There is life galore in this water; baby crabs, little urchin, minnows in great numbered schools, so many fun things to see while beach combing, and the beach goes on for miles. It is a relaxing dream. At the top of the bluff, in the campground, they have placed wooden lounge chairs to sit and have a morning coffee and look out over the expanse of the ocean. It's beautiful. They allow NO music, at all. It is very family friendly and respectful on keeping the quiet for everyone. I am grateful I was able to get a tent site here on ZERO planning/preparation. I happened to phone and got a spot for the following week. We were super excited. Now for our site - 9C I think it was 🤔. (Again - I am very grateful to have been successful in booking to camp here) but they really need to work on this particular camp site. This site backed onto Central Road, and faced the Outhouses. They had a nice fire pit, a picnic table, it was really good. My recommendation would be for them to plant bamboo (as they had elsewhere in the campground), to close that site in more. It was very...exposed.... pictures to follow. I mean it was quite comical to learn the busy times for the Outhouses, haha, the morning and evening rush. I was almost saying hello to people, but it's just awkward as I'm roasting a hot dog, and they are entering for a bathroom break. Lol. The waft that briefly breezed through our campsite was a good indication of high use times! (Odours did not last long, just caught the breeze and carried on) I'm not one for camping, this is actually the first time we've gone, so I can't say for certain but I do believe I would prefer a site that was darker. I think if they added bamboo, it would block some of the lighting from the outhouses area. You will see how bright in my photos. Star gazing wasn't significant in that spot. , So in our tent we lay, as vehicle headlights danced through our tent when vehicles drove by, and the sound of people coming to use the toilets. Lights from the road (good thing traffic is light on hornby), and lights from the outhouse. For 50$ a night, for a tent only, (no power) it would have been appreciated to have privacy, and darkness. It was so bright in our tent just from the outhouse lighting. I will say that lights on the Outhouses are wonderful, and they do make that area easy to find, and access for guests - but courtesy to the site 9C campers would be appreciated. 9C wasn't a private site. Everyone who went to the washroom could see us because the lights shone in that site . We made the best of it, and had a great time, we are so lucky we happened to catch this opening they had ! But alas, I'd stay there again. Hopefully next time I'll actually plan it and be able to get a better spot there or elsewhere on hornby.

Spectacular campground, would stay again in a heartbeat. Staff were super friendly, campground was spotless and full of wonderful guests. Only one sticking point: Remember that Seinfeld episode, "You take the reservation, but you don't keep the reservation."? When you book a site, you MIGHT NOT get that site. You're only booking a site of that type. The system may juggle you into a different site. Now the system clearly has a way of locking you into the site you want, you just have to pay for that. So if you want to reserve a specific site, you have to pay an additional $15.00—which to me—felt a little like a cash grab and as a consumer, that rubs me the wrong way. I think it would make better sense, and be better optics (if you must charge for such a thing) to build that into the cost of the site and then everybody gets the site they want and there's no surprises or disappointment.) It would be better to have a checkbox that asks "Are you willing to take a different site if we need to move you to accommodate a larger group, and get a free bundle of wood?" That way you're still $5 ahead and nobody feels nickel and dimed.

This is among my very favorite places to be. Nothing really beats waking to the ocean waves and ravens. The freezer room allows us to stay for a week. It's such a benefit to the guests, as well as the laundry facilities and showers. Super handy to have the store to shop from, as well as a fresh fruit, vegetable, and flower stand at the entrance. The washrooms and outhouses (which were completely re-done recently) are always clean and stocked with paper products. They've also added running water to the sites and soon power. The sunsets are breathtaking, too! I am pleased to see that the predatory man Martin and his wife Erica are gone. I hope Isaac keeps Roberta & John on-they are pleasant, hard working, and wonderful to chat with, unlike the last pair. They are a breath of fresh air, as well as Stephanie & Dawn. See you all next year.

I'm reaching out to address a concern that may affect many folks who frequent Brads Dads Land (BDL). Recently, you may have noticed unexpected charges appearing on your credit card statements about a month after a visit to BDL. This message aims to raise awareness and encourage transparency about these possible costs, and to assist patrons to be prepared when they engage with BDL services.||||As regular patrons of BDL who have consistently paid for our RVsite fees a year in advance over the past several seasons, and have recently booked our pre-paid trips for 2026, we find ourselves frustrated by what we perceive as either significant mismanagement or an unfortunate scheme of petty extortion. This has been a disappointing experience for us, and we believe it's crucial to address these concerns for the benefit of all loyal customers. Our expressed concerns here may be a campers only defence to cope with unexpected incorrect/bogus alleged charges from BDL of which the camper may have no prior knowledge.||||Today 17 July 2025, after we had left BDL at 7.25 am, we received an email while travelling home at 8.26 am from “Gabby” alleging we had an outstanding balance but our credit card had expired and BDL did not have our new credit card number. We responded by saying "We do not have any outstanding balance”; specifically we had paid everything on arrival from a $200 credit we had on file from the previous month and we bought nothing from the shop during our stay. ||||Since that first email at 8.25 am today from BDL, we received several other emails, all unsigned, over the next two hours from a BDL address. The first alleged we owed money from 15 June 2025, the second next alleged we owed it from 15 July 2025. Then we received a computersized invoice by email alleging we owed money from June 2024. Finally about 11.30 am we got an website based invoice showing the amount we allegedly owed. However to our astonishment, the amount had more than DOUBLED, that occuring in a space of about three hours. This latest version of our alleged purchases had two dates with two amounts being July 15, 2025 and July 17 2025, the latter being today, the day we had left. There were no tabs attached to this alleged outstanding balance, no video of us leaving with items, no agreement that we could or would run a tab, no proof at all that we had purchased items from the store. BDL did not appear to contemplate for one moment that perhaps they had made a mistake in the charges, although they did apologize for the clerical error on dates! ||And then at 11.51 am. an email from BDL stated "we are just trying to settle a purchase you made but did not pay for ... which is described as theft under the law”.||||Whoa! Theft? We are respectable 75 and 83 year olds respectively. We are immune suppressed and unable to travel to exotic places anymore or be close to others physically … we are just doing our RV thing quietly . And here is BDL not just accusing of us of theft, but actually stating it. ||Their email at around 11.50 am went on to say that “BDL management” were aware of the correspondence. We wondered out loud at that point if maybe “BDL Management” were incompetent or swindlers too? None-the-less here we had BDL sitting as judge and jury with no credible evidence whatsoever to prove we had “stolen”anything but determined to charge us even at the risk of libel as they clearly stated they had shared this information. ||||To us, this is all bizarre if not dangerous. BDL in their incredible false rightouness went on to say that as we were coming back in August and September, the new amount (that had magically doubled) of alleged theft of items would be charged to us in August. ||||The definition of extortion is demanding money illegally by using various means one being threats of exposing criminal wrongdoing as a form of coercion. ||||So driving home, we could not help but think about a Dad or Mom taking their kids to BDL in good faith. We imagine them suddenly getting a charge for specified or unspecified items as we had. How are they ever going to sort it out? Do they ask the kids if they bought 15 ice creams each? And then trying to get bogus charges reversed by their credit card supplier on the word of their children? Credit card reversals are a longwinded affairs and in these circumstances with apparently such hard nosed individuals, I think one would give up. Innocent folks would likely just shake their head and try to forget the extra unexpected expense they did not account for in their vacation budget and can possibly ill- afford. The kids perhaps would wrongly take the blame. It hurts us to think about this. Really hurts. ||||In our view, this is potentially a very slippery slope that BDL is running these days and certainly not the kind of treatment we, as faithful supporters expected. Buyer or in this case, “non-buyer” beware.||||We have six more bookings over the next 18 months with BDL. To cancel would cost us several hundred dollars. Instead, we are hoping that BDL will restaff or at the very least investigate, retrain and closely supervise their existing employees. We’d like to believe that our vacations at BDL in the future would not be ruined by such apparently transparent incompetence or possibly illegal business practices. ||||We are sending a copy of this...

The good: -Campsite managers are friendly and accommodating. -Family oriented and a safe place for kids. -Sites are clean with picnic tables that were freshly stained. -No music so you don't have competing stereos going in each site. -Clean facilities with plenty of covid19 warnings and instructions. -Great views and many chairs at bluffs edge for reading while taking it all in. The bad: -No playground hours of use. That means yelling and screaming kids until 11pm when quiet time hits. Our experience saw most surrounding sites dark and folks in bed by 10:30p while a dad lit up the playground with a light so the kids could shriek and scream on the tire swing while many families tried to sleep. Inquiries to management from a fellow campers indicated they weren't concerned about the late evening noise. -This is a family oriented site so expect lots of kids. We had a count of 28 in the small playground at one time during one evening. Keep this in mind if you are getting a site anywhere near the playground. This campground is smaller than it looks online and you may not have the piece and quiet you maybe seeking. Great sites for younger family's but families with teens or no kids would be recommended to ask for sites in other areas. -The next door neighbour appears to have a property line issue with Bradsdadsland owner. For the sake of this review, we will call the neighbour, Hornby Islands own "KAREN" from Orchard House. She lives in the self named orchard house adjoining the campsite to the north. She pulled her air-pods out while looking at us over the bushes and started to challenge us regarding her property line and bylaws etc while we were parked in our bordering designated site. This "Karen" was told to take it up with the camp managers and not guests. She said they don't care..Beware of the "Karen from orchard house" next...
