Had a chance to stay just prior to season close. Location is spectacular no question. This is one of the more rustic hostels, but they do have power, running water and indoor plumbing so they have some of the other beat in that aspect. Kitchen equipped with fridges and reasonably well suited as a rustic hostel. Stayed in the dorm closest to the kitchen, unfortunately walls are very thin so very nosily-although cannot blame anyone for being happy about being here and just wanting to show it. So if I had to say the only real negative - the bathrooms really do need to be kept much cleaner. A little more elbow grease and some strong cleaners to sanitize. Better to be safe and keep the germ count to minimum. Did not use the kitchen decided to eat in Field so cannot speak to kitchen cleanliness. But ideally the kitchen is maintained with appropriate clean towels-bleach-dish soap-dish cloths and dishes are cleaned properly. Nobody wants to pick up GI issues and ruin your stay at this location. They have it going on though for sure at this location and no doubt is a very busy one during prime season. Just a little more effort in to cleaning though folks and you will...

There is a propane stove and fridge, and propane light in the bathroom of each 9 person dorm. Tons of plates and pots for cooking and eating...totally well stocked. For hiking purposes, not having to lug in camping gear or a sleeping bag (as the bunks have blankets and you are provided with sheets); this is an ideal set up to get in hours of hiking and able to have a base camp.||||I would recommend bringing a flashlight as it is very dark at night, again a huge plus if you enjoy true wilderness.||||You will NOT get a better view of Takakkaw Falls, and hiking is literally outside your door. No need to drive anywhere, hours and hours of serious hiking can be found!||||Bring your food with you, there are no services here, no shop, nothing. This is a wilderness hostel and should remember that. But once you are here you may not...
