We were looking for self-contained accommodations that would work for a large group of 6 adults--concerned in current circumstances for a place we could "vacation" and that would satisfy our own and required guidelines for cleanliness. As others have, we came across both the cabins and the home online, and would happily have stayed for longer had the home been available. While Golden itself is not a place I would normally think of as a destination spot, this property and the guest home are lovely: quiet, with wonderful mountain views, close to Golden, Kicking Horse, Highway 1, a large number of trails. The house itself had everything we needed, including enough space for 6 adults--not all couples or relatives--two living areas, excellent well-equipped kitchen at a time when cooking at home is the only realistic option. There is a hot tub, a steam shower, an additional Murphy bed, plenty of seating, a gas fireplace. One of our group also needed to be in a space that was easy to walk and sit in--especially outdoors, there are often no seats provided for people who have difficulty sitting or standing. Plenty of options here. The two slight negatives were that, as this is not an area that always gets good cell service, the wi-fi was a bit weak, which was an issue for one of our group who was working remotely. The other, for people who are strong on privacy, is that the main floor bedrooms have an adjoining bathroom with separate sliding doors. When we were there, the locks on these doors were not functional. Definitely...
Read moreThey are amazing and really romantic, my fiance and I went there and he proposed to me one romantic night in the cabin. It small and cozy.| My fiance used to bbq outside and we could observe the muntains while we were eating. |You can walk to the River not sure what river is I think is the Blaeberry River the river is turquoise color we could even see the pink salmon swimming against the river. ||The cabins are perfect! ||The only thing I can say about Golden bc and it doesn't have to do with the cabins (it is not their fault of course) but of course with the city of golden fault; there is a lot of areas that have pile garbage of cars hidden in the wilderness. There are mountains of garbage parts car and this is really sad. |This locals have their bussiness of car parts and they even clean their own mess, it is really dirty and it is clearly polluting and damaging this amazing landscape. |But don't worry the cabins have big extention of land that has been really well preserved and beautiful.||For me it is really sad that after being in that beautiful landscape (cabins area) some miles away find all these garbage :(. I don't know why locals don't take care of this knowing that there are a lot of...
Read moreWe chose this place as our first stop and base for exploring the mountain parks. The cabin is small, but has everything necessary. Since it was summer and the weather cooperated, we were able to enjoy meals in the gazebo (and some deer joined us!). The views are breathtaking and after all of the crowds in the parks, it was nice to have a serene resting place at the end of the day. There are plenty of activities nearby (Kicking Horse Resort, Northern Lights Wolf Centre, Bison Farm, etc.) so you don't have to travel far to get a feel for Rocky Mountain life. If you do favor the parks, this is a good base for Yoho and Kootenay; Jasper is a bit too far for a day trip.||A few notes: the cabins are a good distance away from Golden's shops so be sure to pick up groceries before you get here. The bed is quite soft which might bother some. The stove has 2 rings so don't plan on fancy cooking, but you can make some eggs for breakfast or a bit of pasta. Les and Krys are wonderful hosts and you should take a chance to chat with them if you see them around. If you are lucky enough to book one of the cabins (they fill up quickly for a reason),...
