My husband and I just got back from spending the weekend at Boulder Mountain Resort to celebrate our 8 year wedding anniversary. Our stay was ah-mazing and we are already missing the cabin!
We rented the Rustic Deep Woods Cabin, which is a little bit further out from the regular cabins. It is nestled comfortably between the tenting sites (but still with ample privacy if you were to rent it in the summer seasons). It is surrounded by beautiful tall trees and foliage. The Cabin itself is a perfect size, it just has a bed and table inside with a TV and a place to hang your clothes.
The decor and atmosphere at the whole resort is really next level. They combined Rustic with Modern to give a clean but timeless, cozy look and feel. Probably the most beautifully decorated cabin we have stayed in (which we do in different towns/cabins every year...until this year perhaps 😏 ).
The only thing 2 things I would mention about this cabin is that there is no plumbing (only a few outhouses close by and a main washroom a bit of a walk away) but they provide a water machine inside so you can still get water, make tea etc. Just have to walk to the washroom to brush your teeth etc. The second thing is that there is no wifi out at the cabin itself, but you can connect when in the washroom. It made it a bit tedious to use the TV in the room as there was no wifi and no cable, but we were able to download some Netflix shows onto our phones and stream them to the TV later so that was fine for us. Something to keep in mind if you enjoy TV while on vacation.
The resort has a pristinely cleaned hot tub that is also beautifully decorated as well. It was the perfect ending to each day we stayed at the cabin, dipping into the hot tub for a soak before bed. The cabin was equipped with really plush robes as well which was a must-have for the chilly walk back (about a 5 minute walk from the hot tub to the cabin). I would LOVE if one day they had a private hot tub behind the deep woods cabin - we would happily pay extra for that feature ;) and this place would likely become our one and only stay for our annual anniversary celebration if that were the case.
The best part of the resort was that we could bring along our dogs, who thoroughly enjoyed the trails and the warm cabin to sleep after. The resort provides little rags to wipe the dogs paws clean after a walk in the rain which is so appreciated as well.
Revelstoke is chalk full of amazing trails, scenery, food, coffee... and Boulder Mountain Resort is honestly the ONLY way to experience it in it's full glory. We will absolutely be back! Thankyou JC for being an incredible host - we couldn't appreciate your kindness more!
EDIT!*
We just came back for our 10th anniversary and its even better than ever. I adore this place. This time we stayed at the 1 bedroom premium cabin and omgosh its the most beautiful stay ever. It has a little kitchen and living room and a steam shower even!!!
We might just need to make Boulder Mountain Resort our anniversary getaway every year. I highly...

I am changing my review from 5 stars to 4 solely due to poor management. The staff and service was great despite that fact, but I was very disappointed with the manager. I was originally staying there for 3 nights only but decided to extend my stay due to how happy I was with the cabin, originally. After moving from cabin to glamper tent (which was a seamless process) I stayed in the tent for one night and moved back to a cabin for one last night. This is where everything went south. I realized that the cabins that should be identical, were in fact not. It seems like the cleaning and resetting of the cabins is close to non-existent. They may vacuum and change the bedding, but the counters were definitely not wiped down properly because I found dried mustard on the counter tops before cooking and decided to wipe it down only to realize I had no dish towels in this cabin. I also had no mixing bowl and the steam shower had been changed to 60 mins when it should be 15 and last but not least I found that there is in fact cable in the cabins because it was present in my second cabin, but not the first. When I informed the manager about it she said "I checked and they (the cable boxes) were there so don't know why you couldn't find them, they were just unplugged so not sure how well you looked" instead of apologizing that her staff is not doing their due diligence in the clean up and reset process. I was told it was good that I got my towels after all (this is after I had to leave my dinner and walk to the front desk as the phone was not being answered), and they hope I enjoyed my stay. Horrible management. There should be a checklist for the staff to go through as well as for the guests to know what they should have and expect. How can you really say who steals if the kitchen utensils go missing like the mixing bowl from our second cabin or the steak knife from our first cabin? Or that the last guest decides to unplug the cable box in both the living room and the bedroom, shove them in a corner, but it's the next guest's fault? Laughable. Janice, I'm very disappointed with your response. This was going to be a spot for me to tell all my friends and family about and possibly frequent annually. I don't think that will happen anymore. I hope your resort enjoyed the approximate $1000 I spent there, but got told it was my fault that my cabins were not cleaned and reset for me properly before I used them. Considering this pandemic, that is...
Read moreWe enjoy late season travel in our truck and camper. Never knowing what might still be open just adds to the adventure.
We drove west over Rogers Pass in late October winter-like conditions, then began looking for a place to stay.
The guy at the Revelstoke Tourism and Chamber of Commerce (a really good place to stop, with local artwork and crafts, etc. for sale) called ahead for us, confirmed that Boulder Mountain was open, and we were there just before supper time.
It is clearly undergoing a complete makeover. What I could see did not match the Google Maps aerial view at all. There are brand new cabins that are rectangular, much like a large RV or small “manufactured home”, with decks and BBQs, two “glamping” tents set up, and many RV and tent sites. The office has a small store for last minute needs, and the campground map handed out at check in is very nicely done. Not a photocopy of a photocopy of a hand-drawn squiggle.
They are catering to year round outdoor enthusiasts, and doing a great job to make it comfortable.
The RV sites were not too tightly packed, with several big trees left standing. We paid $45 for a site with electricity.
The washrooms were clean and warm after trudging through the cold slush. They also contained coin-operated laundry machines (one washer one dryer in the women’s, and same in the men’s), as well as free hot showers. They just ask that you limit yourself to 10 minutes, with the added hint that the motion operated lights will turn off after 15.
It is along the highway, so highway noise is to be expected. Because it was snowing, all our windows were closed. This is Revelstoke, so train noise is part of the history, and why the town exists.
There is still construction going on, which is good to see during these weird COVID times...They were framing a new building when we were there.
We will be...
