Yellow Cedar Lodge — Hotel in Area C (Butedale/Kitlope/Kitsumkalum)

What an amazing week. This lodge had been recommended the previous year when we were in Quebec Province. The website looked great. Chad dealt with my queries as my wife wasn’t fishing & is vegetarian .He was tremendously helpful and kept in touch by email right up until our trip. He met us at Terrace airport. Our room was extremely com with a great en-suite shower. The lodge itself was amazing. All the staff were extremely friendly. The meals were an absolute delight, high end cuisine from Amanda & Mark. We also had great packed lunches each day of fishing. The fishing is SPECTACULAR. I catch five Atlantic salmon a year and caught over 100!! I caught pink salmon, Coho, Sockeye and Chinook(35 & 15 pounds). The guides were all amazing. I was provided with all the fishing gear I needed. The Skeena and other rivers/ sea were a challenge as I am not the greatest caster, the guides were extremely helpful. My wife came on two trips , one upriver in a jet boat and the other a sea trip. Seeing shoals of salmon was breathtaking. We saw eagles, sea lions, seals and breathtaking scenery. It was lovely eating breakfast and evening meals with the other guests and we felt we were with such a nice group. I have already booked another trip for August 2024!! Another amazing visit. It was easy to book. Chad kept me informed and the administration was seamless. Chad picked me up from the airport. My room was extremely comfortable. The food is fantastic, thanks to Mark & Amanda and all the support staff. Karen did my laundry which was so helpful. The guides are all excellent, all different but helpful. They are great fun too. I fished with a new friend Dario. All my fishing gear was provided, great rods too. The fishing is spectacular. I caught my first steelhead, one of six for the visit. Two good sized Coho as well. Have stayed many times at the lodge on business and the experience is memorable and makes you want to return. You are always greeted as a special guest by all members of Simone's staff. The food and wine selection at the lodge is superior to many other comparable facilities and is prepared promptly to fit your schedule. You can't find a more beautiful place to spend a fun filled or quiet time with a variety of things to do and interesting guests and hosts.
