Jan.12, 2025: We drove one and three-quarter hours from Prince George to ski at Murray Ridge. The grooming was excellent, with blue skies and sunshine at the top. There are views of three lakes and snow capped mountains. The lodge has three floors with a basement locker area, Cafe, and ticket floor and upper lounge. because it is run by a not for profit organization, the lift rates and food prices are very reasonable. We can’t wait to come back for an awesome Powder Snow day!

Murray Ridge has a certain Jena se qua. Although not a huge vertical, it has a great variety of difficulty runs and an easy to use tow rope for the bunny hill. The main downside is the main lift is a T-bar that climbs 1500'. It's not overly difficult, but for people with weak legs it'll require getting tough or going elsewhere. Easier than Castle Mountain's T-bar.

Nice little ski hill. The lodge is good with some good food and a bar on the second floor. Lots of variety for runs on the hill. No chairlift, only a T-bar. Had a great instructor for lessons as we had never been snowboarding before. Would recommend this hill for a day out.

Came here from Alberta on a silly long weekend roadtrip to go to a ton of small, remote, 1-lift hills.

Our group was extremely impressed by this hill - the groomed runs are some of the best I've seen. I'm normally in the trees, but this hill just has so many amazing groomers - hard to explain, but the conditions were better than I've ever seen at bigger resorts if you wanted to do smooth, fun, fast curves.

The trees are great too though - tons of terrain when the snow is good (crusty on the day we were there, but that's just weather).

The hill is very quiet, even on the beautiful Sunday we were there. It means that the conditions are perfect all day, and you can enjoy those groomers better since you don't have to slow down for people. And of course, lots of powder in the trees.

And cheap! $40 for a day, and good food at the caf.

Views on the top are panoramic and amazing.

The T-bar lift is also really fun, and adds personality to the place. And at 500 m, it's actually quite respectable for run length.

This hill was a huge surprise for us, and after doing Powder King the day before, we had high standards.

I know the hill probably struggles financially, and I'm very appreciative of the locals who support it - this is a real hidden gem!...

Murray Ridge is the type of ski hill most towns wish they had. Not too much vertical, a good variety of runs, short lift lines, a bunny hill. A cafeteria that offers good normal cost food, rental shop, a bunch of lockers, and good parking.

What's not good? Unfortunately this little resort is only open Friday - Monday, meaning no midweek trips. It's a south facing hill which is great for lighting and long days, however the lifts only run 10-3. The south facing slopes also melt the snow fast so their season typically starts late (after Christmas) and ends early (before the end of March). Also the hill often struggles to have good snow coverage, so I'd bring some rock skis .

The bottom line is the resort is very nice. I really enjoy coming here. If you learn to ski on all these runs, you can...

Amazing Ski hill! Love the vibe, and staff are amazing! Props to them for being awesome especially during a pandemic. Perfect for littles to learn, the bunny hill is awesome for them. Love the lodge, and service was great when ordering food. Rented our equipment and I have to say Brent and the nice lady behind the counter was friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful to my kiddos and myself. Myself, I loved the T-Bar and had no issues, the runs from Green to blue were amazing and fun. Hadn't had a chance to venture out to the black but hopefully soon. As someone who has just moved to Fort from the Island and only having Mt Washington as a ski hill, I have to say I love Murray Ridge, the friendly atmosphere, beautiful hill and serene space. My...
