This is a hard review to write as this place was not great but it was comfortable and a nice place to stop in a rustic location off the beaten path and we enjoyed out stay. ||||We arrived here after a day's drive from Prince Rupert. The scenery on the drive in was spectacular and definitely worth the 112km off the main highway. The lodge consists of a couple rooms in a house down from the main restaurant. When we were there the rooms in the main restaurant were being renovated. The main building is the old Hudson Bay trading post so has a lot of history. The house we were in had three rooms and two share toilets. One had a shower in it. We were upstairs in a room with three beds in it. Although there was a kitchenette there it wasn't working so we just used the counter to put our stuff out on. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. It was a very hot day and there is no air conditioning so the staff brought in a fan for us. I was expecting to b very uncomfortable but I slept fine as did the kids. There is not TV or phone (no cell signal at all) here which was nice in its own way. We enjoyed walking around the property and down to the river which is directly in front. We walked over to the museum and had a private showing there which was interesting. A fun stop and definitely worth the drive. Just keep in mind it is not luxury...
Read morełān eti’e. Awesome lodging. Place was empty when I stayed so was nice and quiet. Really clean and well kept, very old and unique. Beds are comfortable. Washroom is shared. Rooms don't have a/c or tvs, but there is a common area with a/c, tv and kitchen. Tv was limited to streaming service as far as I know....no cable tv. Pet friendly(small dog). No cell service in Telegraph Creek so make sure you activate your wifi calling feature on your phone before you leave your service area. Complimentary Wifi is available but limited.
There is a restaurant/gift shop downstairs on the main floor which is convenient and the food is excellent, but limited menu. Restaurant closes at 7pm which is nice for guests staying the night. Very interesting and unique area with history. The Tahltan people are friendly and their territory is beautiful. Was a pleasure and honor to stay here. Mēduh chō. So please support the Tahltan people and the Stikine River Cafe Lodge &...
Read moreThis was my favorite stay of the trip! The cafe has both a restaurant and rooms upstairs, all in the historic Hudson’s Bay trading post. Spent 1 night there and it was magic, transporting you back 100 years while hearing the river from your room. While the rooms are historical and antique, they have been renovated so the beds are very comfy and the outlets are new. Starlink wifi was very fast and the kitchen and living area had everything you could want. It was also meticulously clean. We had breakfast at the restaurant, a sausage bacon hashbrown mix with eggs and hollandaise sauce that I’m still drooling over today. Carina was an amazing chef and welcoming host, if you are ever in Telegraph Creek please stay here, it truly gives you an amazing experience. I wasn’t sure what to expect because there were very few Google reviews but I’m...
