An absolute 10/10. I have travelled far and wide and I can say with absolute certainty that the view from this campground is one of the most beautiful anywhere in Canada. At the time of writing it is free to stay for up to two weeks in a year. Bathrooms are new and surprisingly clean as far as pit toilets go. The campground hosts are lovely friendly people. Only downside are no water or service sites. You can boil and drink the lake water but it tastes like what I imagine the feeling of your parent saying "they aren't angry they're just disappointed" would taste like if it were a taste. Also no cell signal. Well worth the downsides. Beautiful and awesome place to stay.

Absolutely agree with other reviewers, this place is a 10/10. We got here by 10:30am mid week and there were several empty sites to choose from. Camped in site #7. It is first come first serve with no hookups or potable water. The on-site host does an outstanding job keeping the campground and bathrooms clean. There is a boat launch for small motor boats as well other water access points to swim or put in a kayak or SUP. The reservoir is very clean and super clear. Looking forward to returning someday!

Opened by BC Hydro in February 2021, it replaces the campground at the bottom of the dam. You are allowed 14 nights, per year, free. First come..., no resevations, no leaving a couple of items to save a spot. Only new pit toilets. No water, no electric. No cell service. I have been there 3 times, just after it was opened, then in June and last week. If you want or need a quiet time this is a good place. Early morning looking west. 1-2 min walk from site...
