The owner was very nice, and check-in went very easily, but you have to use your phone to get him to come to the office. I was lucky that someone else was checking in also, and he ended up calling the owner. So this was a strange start, but it was late in the afternoon and the owner was probably having supper in his home.|I honestly expected a lot more from this place. |The site itself was good, and the facilities were really close by, but that's where the pleasantries stop. The laundry machines were broken, the WiFi didn't go any further than the main office, and no matter what I tried, I couldn't get it to stay active on my devices. Campsites shouldn't advertise the offering of WiFi when it's obvious they can't deliver that service. |On the door of the facility room (laundry, washrooms, showers), is a sign that says it's closed every day between 12:00 pm and 1:30 pm due to cleaning. I arrived around 4:00 pm and the men's bathroom was disgusting. I know men can be pigs, but the place had not been cleaned in a while. Others might have experienced the place differently, but I look at what is offered versus what I could actually use. |And I really needed to use the laundry facilities while I was there,...
Read moreI would NOT recommend staying at Canyon Creek Hot Springs campsite. This place is a complete money grab with zero regard for camper safety. During our stay, a very active bear entered the campsite twice — the camp host shot off a few bear bangers, but the bear just moved to another site. No one was warned ahead of time. There were no signs or alerts at check-in about bear activity, even though it was clearly a serious risk.||What was posted everywhere? Signs about all the extra charges. Want to take a shower? Pay extra. Want to use the hot springs? That’ll be another $16 per person, on top of the already steep $55 per night fee for a basic campsite. The hot springs aren’t even included in your stay — misleading and disappointing.||Overall, it felt like the owners care more about squeezing every dollar out of you than actually providing a safe or enjoyable experience. We left feeling frustrated and unsafe....
Read moreCanyon Creek was a beautiful, well cared for campground....until the new owners took over. Now the lawns aren't cared for, saplings are growing up in the sites, and the bathroom wasn't cleaned for the first 3 days we were there. The power went out during a rain storm while we were staying at Canyon Creek. There were 5 of us in a tent. A lovely river runs beside the campground. Instead of getting water in buckets so the toilets could be flushed, the owner closed the bathrooms. My son came by on the way home from a family vacation and wanted to drop off the grandchildren and was towing a trailer. The owners would not let him drive to our campsite and drop the girls off. Instead, he had to park across a busy highway and call us to come get them. The firewood is dry and they have a nice little store. We won't be back. Neither will several of the other campers...
