My family and I just spent a week there. There are certainly Pro's & Con's to this Campground. PRO'S: The bathrooms are amazing for a provincial campground! Very Clean & Hot showers. 4 AMAZING Outdoor Sinks with Hot Water for Dish Washing. The Playground is new and nicely maintained with wood chip bark mulch as padding. It is a very clean and family friendly campground with the park rangers politely enforcing the rules for Dogs on leashes and the quiet hours starting at 10:00pm. Right on the Lake with Multiple spots to sit and enjoy the view or water. Clean waterfront (No Sand tho. VERY Rocky Beaches) CON'S: It is expensive for what you get in the South Loop. No Privacy and your Picnic Table is on a lower level than your trailer. The paved RV Pads are all slanted in such a way that any water runs directly thru the middle of the pad and down the stairs to the lower eating area. It makes is near impossible to walk into your trailer or RV without tracking in mud and water They use the in ground sprinkler system WAY too much. Most of the time it is spraying in the wrong direction and thus making it near impossible to not track mud everywhere. Coming from a landscaping company, I completely understand the need to properly water, but this needs to be addressed. The Men's Bathroom (Even tho it is VERY clean and well lit) only has 1 urinal and 1 toilet. There are 3 Showers, but everyday you need to really plan ahead to use the toilet or walk to one of the outhouses. All-in-all a clean, family friendly campground and we will most likely be back again!

Most people review the beautiful landscape of the Okanagan and the weather but a closer scrutiny of the campsite reveals areas of improvement. Parks BC should look closely when renewing the contract of the operator. As some other posts have hinted at there is some real attitude issues by the staff. If you don't know your campsite number upon check-in, you are made feel inadequate. I thought a typical check in goes by last name. Happened on two occasions. Fire wood is also sold for 10 bucks while other principal campsites sell wood for 8. But what really bothered me is the lack of sanitation during this pandemic. It seems that signs were put up as required by the province but there were no hand sanitizers in some outhouse toilets. Again at other campsite like the wonderful Rathtrevor on the island had sani stations everywhere. Seems that the operator is taking it too easy and not comply with regulations. Considering the unfriendly staff, I wouldnt be surprised.

One of the most cleanest and organized campground I have seen. I love the layout that each camp cite is close to beach. Even your camp cite is not beside the beach, there are accesses to the beach. The lake water is very clean and clear, however, some spot of the lake gets deep suddenly, so watch out when you or your kids are swimming in the lake. The washroom is super clean, there are shower rooms inside. They do have hot water but not stable. (Usually there are more hot water in the morning) You will see geese and beaver around the grass. They are cute but not sure if they are friendly. The host sell bunch of stuffs, very convenient and reliable. One bin of the fire woods cost $12. ( we found out the gas station sell cheaper price) Ice pack cost $5 each bag. There are regular movie night on every Saturday, with providing fresh popcorn 🍿 We will back again.

Upon arriving at the gate, my girlfriend and I explained we were the first there from our group and would like to check in. The person maning the gate immediately said in a very patronizing manor "we could not check in until the person who booked it arrived" I started to explain to this man that our friends would not be able to make it until later that night. Before I could even finish, he said "I guess you have some waiting to do"

The man pointed us to the parking lot beside the bathroom where he said we would have to wait until our friend was able to show up in 4 hours. What made this whole ordeal even more ridiculous was the fact our camp was about 15 feet away from where we were forced to park and wait, unable to set our camp up and make dinner.

Obviously, we were feeling frustrated and annoyed. However we did not want this rude man to ruin our experience, so we sat in the parking lot waiting on lawn chairs trying to keep positive, despite being tired hungry and hot. I believe this offended our park ranger, whom had now taken it upon himself to patrol the parking lot from a side by side atv, ensuring we stayed put.

Once our friends finally arrived, he allowed us to move the 15 feet down the road and unpack. But not before Making us pay extra because we had 4 vehicles for our two sites. It's now after 9 and we all just want to eat, relax and visit. During our dinner, at 10:05, this same lunatic barges into our camp and tells us it's quiet time and everything needed to be shut down.

We couldn't believe this man was still on our case, despite the fact he knew the reason we were outside cooking so late was because HE forced us to wait in a parking lot all evening for no reason. The rudeness and disrespecful attitude of this man was so shocking, we didn't know what to say. So we just listened to this man belittle us once more before he walked away.

Our group felt very upset after this treatment and the tone continued to shift negatively. Two of the girls thought it would be good to wash our dishes near the bathroom in the designated dish cleaning sink connected to the washroom facility; nowhere near any camps. This man came and harassed them once more for doing the dishes too late. At this point, even the park ranger assisting him questioned this nut job saying "doing dishes is against policy?" Just further proving to us what a tirade this man was on.

Despite this guy fully engulfed in a power trip, we did manage to have a nice time. There are some beautiful views, and the lake was great. The vast majority of sites were very small tho, and they offered very little privacy. There are 3 sites that were right on the water, if you could snag any of those you would be pretty happy.

If that one particular park worker wasn't there, I'd rate my experience maybe 3.5-4 / 5

That guys actions were inexcusable though. This is the most disrespected I've ever felt. I'm all for respecting rules, but this guy harassed us all evening.

Camping is supposed to be a fun way to relax and disconnect from regular life. Apparently to this Campground that means being ruled with an iron fist by some guy with an...

Having lived in the beautiful Okanagan, we take every opportunity we can to get out and camp, whether for the simple pleasure, or out of necessity for my husbands work. In all our excursions, we have NEVER had an experience like the one we had this past weekend. And after reading many similar reviews of of this nature, I thought we’d share ours. From the first moments there, we felt constantly under attack by the “host” of the campground. We ended up taking on a second site for our adult kids to tent, park a second vehicle. The “host” drives up, asks what’s going on here, what is this about. We replied with saying we decided to take a second site in addition to the original one we chose. While trying to have a very brief chat with our kids on whether they also wanted to stay 3 nights, or perhaps only two, we were interrupted with, “well is anyone gonna pay me or?????” (In a super snarky impatient ignorant tone). And the duration of our stay continued to get worse. It became blatantly obvious while patrolling the grounds, that he would slow right down while going past our site, waiting/listening/watching for his next perceived “infraction”. And there were many. This “host” looked for any and every chance to come and create hostile confrontations that were rude, disrespectful, judgemental, condescending, and completely unnecessary. The final straw was being told, “excuse me, was I talking to you” when he asked to have a chat with the person who’s responsible for the site, which I WAS that person. He accused us of being “all up in his face” to his superiors who run the park, while we were 10 feet away from him at all times. We HAD paid for 3 nights. But promptly packed up and left after only 2. We have NEVER had a single negative dialogue with any camp host in our past camping trips, and in this case, it was every few hours we were under attack. While we had always wanted to camp at the South site, as we’ve enjoyed the North one in past, we will absolutely never step foot in this campground again. Don’t waste your time or money on this one unless you get some strange enjoyment out of verbal attacks filled with hostility and accusations over things you didn’t even do. Absolute worst encounter EVER. And this person should not be doing a job he clearly...
