Valemount is a great place to get out and enjoy nature! Especially, for those with toys! Our Site had water, 30amp service and the sani-dump is free for those staying at least 3 days which covered the basics. This was our first time staying at this campground but won’t be our last. Direct access to miles and miles of Offroad trails and beautiful mountain scenery...what more can you want! Walked our fur-babies around the grounds every morning and had a blast exploring the trails during the days.

Tent camped here during a mountain biking trip in Valemount. They have washrooms with showers that are open 24/7. They sell firewood and there was a fire pit and picnic table at each tent site. The lot was a good size and there was a nice view of the mountains off in the distance. Staff were friendly and accomodating. I had to cut my trip short for work and they didn't charge me for the extra days I had booked. Over all a lovely experience.

Canoe River Campground was amazing! We were genuinely surprised by how calm and remote the campsite felt. it was the perfect peaceful getaway. To our surprise , we even got to witness the Aurora unexpectedly one night, which made the experience even more magical. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for tranquility and a touch of wonder.

Canoe River Campground has excellent proximity to the rodeo grounds and river with salmon and eagle activity. We chose this campsite because we were attending an event nearby. However, please note… The male managers are angry, intimidating and aggressive. They do absolutely nothing to make you feel welcome. When the campsite speed limit says 10km/hr you better go 5km/hr. We have a dually and we’re barely idling in first gear and a bearded man chased us down in his truck to yell at us with our children. We believe it appeared that we were going faster than we were as the road is extremely dusty and the extra set of tires in the back seems to churn up a cloud quite easily. When our truck is cold the clutch fan runs and that also kicks up a lot of dust underneath the vehicle. We calmly responded to the angry man with a simple “okay” but later in the campsite we are once again confronted by an older man this time who approached the grandfather in our group and aggressively scolded us once again for the same incident saying we could all be banned and kicked out. In addition to this experience, the entire property is in need of TLC and basic care. Every amenity is tired and extremely run down. The bathroom doors do not lock and that is a serious safety concern. We had stayed here when one of our kids was just a baby and I can’t believe that nothing has been done since. The main difference since then would be the way we were treated by male staff. Needless to say, we will not be staying here again as we have had great experiences at Swift Creek and Irvin’s...

This riverside campground has potential but it is very run down and unkempt. Here is our experience: We pulled in at 12. A big sign said “go find a spot you like and come back to the office in the morning to pay for it.” So I picked out Site 24 out of a slew of campsites that had unsuitable power supply for my 30 amp rig. And/or broken picnic tables. |||| The electrical turned out to be pretty sketchy with lots of surges, so I unplugged the power and went to DC on my solar panel instead. I thought, oh well, at least I have solar panels. No air conditioning on a blistering hot day though. ||||I had a shower with plans to head for a nap after. After my shower, i went to get something from my truck, and there was another truck with a trailer behind my rig in my site. ||||I told the young guy driving that the site was taken. He replied that he had just paid for the site and I had to leave. I was too tired to argue, and hey, I was there to Rest and relax not to fight. |||| I packed up and swung by the office which was now open. I calmly explained what had just happened, and the woman shrugged and said “oh well”. And got back to office work. My experience here was now horrible. I have stayed in the other campground Irwin’s ,and have had only great...
