Lac des Roches Resort — Hotel in Area L (Lone Butte/Interlakes)

I rented on June 28-july 1st, left June 29th with no other option, when I booked she asked me how many adults I told her it's me and 2 ladys, that are of age but challenged, when we arrived we had to drag all our stuff quite aways, not easy at all, with me being in my 60's and 2 handicapped clients, was not impressed, but there's worse, the stairs have a landing at the top then a sm step that's hard to notice, which my 1 client tripped on twice so I had to confine her in a spot while I continued hauling our stuff, then she had to use the bathroom ( needs help cleaning afterwards) well there is no possibility of 2 people fitting in that bathroom, so she had to come out to be cleaned.... horrible experience for her, no privacy for her at all, then I went to take the mattress of the couch and put it on the floor, we'll there I found it put together with a coat hanger type wire and a long screw, so very dangerous, if they had of sad on there chances are they would have been cut, the place smelt musty, the sheets did not at all smell fresh, very run down, I simply had no choice because of my clients but to leave, there were compromised and with zero privacy for bathroom needs, which is against there rights, I sent a couple messages, only response was that his mom was sick and they will get back to me, I phoned twice before he phoned back, I have never talked to such a rude arrigant person in my life, over talked me constantly, and told me there will be no refund for the 2 nights after we left, and I also had booked ( stupidly) for the end of July weekend I canceled it June 29th, he said there very stick on there policies and u need 45 days notice, totally unfair for the situation, my clients save up all year to be able to book cabins a couple times in the summer, they had one horrible night, and that's it because they are not refunding there money, so very unfair for anyone never mind the challenged/ handicapped people, they should be so ashamed but he didn't seem to care one bit, shame on them and I hope people reading not only my review but many others boycot this place, taking advantage of people this way they don't deserve the bookings, they definitely need new managers that are polite and kind not arigant and rude I took pictures of the broken couch, with wire and screw sticking out, instead of them doing the right thing by my clients, I now have to get there companies legal team involved but nothing will be settled in time for me to book them elsewhere, how wrong is that ....... 27 years! That’s the last time I was here at this resort! I spent 4 summers here as a kid visiting this lake for a week at a time with my family and grandparents and some of my earliest memories are here. Watching the video’s for years I always said I will go back! This summer as a tribute to them I loaded up my young family and came here! The bar was set high from my experiences, and This resort and Luca and his wife blew them out of the water!

The prices for a lake side 2 bedroom cabin experience and I remind you LAKE SIDE is well worth the price! The layouts were just how I remembered them, and yes they’re “rustic” but honestly it’s “glamping” you had everything you needed and was perfect! We had a deck, great neighbours as it is 3 accommodations per building, chatting fishing and all enjoying the outdoors is part of the experience! I remember playing with the other kids on resort and seeing my daughter do the same was awesome, only this time Luca has a full playground set up! They made a volleyball court and ring toss!

Weather didn’t cooperate for a day and half of our stay but, experiencing the thunder storm up there was incredible! The rain was on and off, yes no cable but Luca has hundreds of dvds for you to borrow and enjoy! Plus the decks had great coverage to sit outside and enjoy the views. I should have taken this opportunity to try a cappuccino! (Next time Luca!)

The boat usage for the day was incredible! A tin boat, motor and gas for around $60 a day was perfect for me to enjoy cruising the lake and attempting to fish. There is fish in that lake! I had lots of action and honestly the only fish landed was right off the dock by cabin one morning! But they were jumping all weekend all over! Could fish from shore if wanted too!

The only recommendation I had the entire trip is This resort needs more merchandise of the resort, I would have bought magnet and more t shirts of this iconic resort and gem in the area. My parents kept my shirt when I was 3/4 years old and my daughter got to wear it at this lake at the same age! I showed Luca and his wife and they said it inspired them to look into it! They even sent the pics of my daughter wearing it to them to show how cool it that was!

We cannot wait to come back again, this stay honestly felt we were welcomed by family friends to stay on their resort. I promise it won’t be 27 years between visits. We had Such a blast and have been raving to all our friends and family to take the...

They don't bother telling you that they cannot accommodate slightly mentally challenged, my clients need help in the bathroom, IMPOSSIBLE to fit 2 people, u have to drag your belonging quite aways, that was fun ne being I my 60's and 2 challenged ladys ..... couch was held together by a coat hanger and a LG screw, luckily I found that out before my girls sat on it cause they would have fallen threw and this knows what the hangers and screw would have stuck in, there legs probably, and that's just the main horrible things, we had no choice but to leave , it was unsafe and not suitable at all for my clients, but they refused to refund THEIR money, and I stupidly booked for end the of July won't refund that to them either, stole basically $800 + of there money, if they can't accommodate all forms if people they need to have that on there site, I'm asking all of you that think my ladys deserve there money back please put in a review but most of all call them and verbally tell them they deserve there money, it's not at all there fault that they simply could not stay there, maybe just maybe they might get it back it time for me to still bring them out in the summer, but without getting there money chances are slim they will get much more our if summer except day things no more camping like they love and look forward to every summer, please help them out and...
