September 11 & 12, 2020 As part of a long roaming RV trip we were looking for some quieter less crowded places to stay during this Covid year.
We have a 34' 5th wheel RV, while busy, the place was only about 1/2 full, which we liked. We were able to setup our rig on a small terrace and with our back window looking at the lake, a very nice view. Late in the afternoon another camper moved into the space just below us and removed our wonderful view of the lake, so we were a bit disappointed, and we were staring inside there windows.
This is a nice stop for sure but during peak season, it would be jammed with folks fishing in the well stocked lake. We were not there to fish and don't like being jammed in a sardine can.
The spaces are very tightly packed and so one needs to be prepared for no privacy during peak season. Looks like it could be fun for a family or family groups. But it's clearly not a long stay place for older couples. For those who are there to fish, and socialize around a campfire it might be fun.
There was no sewer hookup but there is a sani dump. And in the space were were located we did pick up a satellite feed. We had to pay an extra $6 per night for Wi-Fi, which was good but annoying to pay for an addon. Rate was $40/nt so sort of reasonable. Many sites were not flat, but there was plenty of grass. Fire-pits and picnic tables were available at most sites.
The management or staff were pleasant and helpful with a smile! We did not use any other facilities due to...
Read moreWhy don't people ice fish at Sheridan Lake more? Caught a 5.6 lb fish there on my third day thanks in part to the owner of the Resort Tammi. ||||The cabins are super reasonably priced. New mattresses. Hot showers. 2 bedrooms. Cellular networks work fine so it was a work-cation. I felt like the price of the cabins were about $50 - $60 cheaper than they should have been. ||||The hosts were great. She greeted us and made us feel welcome without being intrusive. We showed up early and the cabins were ready with the keys on the table. I had to work a bit and left after the checkout. She said worry not at all. ||||The average sized fish I caught was 2 - 2.5 lbs with one big exception. With such a cheap getaway in the winter and fantastic fishing - I can't understand why the place isn't booked solid. ||||The one thing about Sheridan is that you have to know where to fish. The owners told us that and it is a short 10 minute walk from your cabins. The fishing is super aggressive from 7:45 to 9:30. Then it dies down significantly for the next hour and then the fish sleep during the day I guess. But 3 good sized rainbows in 1.5 hours of fishing has no complaints from me! Just a jig of any color and shrimp and you...
